"Cannot create any more objects of this type!" bug?

Why can't my city build anymore powerlines, parks, health care buildings, police buildings, fire buildings, transport buildings, etc. after the update?

I was in the process of building a new and huge district in my city before and until the update started and all of the sudden "Cannot create any more objects of this type!" message shows preventing me to build any services. All I can do is put roads and pipes and create zones.

PLEASE HELP! Any tips would be appreciated. I don't want to start over when my city is at 70% full and spending huge amount of hours into it.

I am also wondering if anyone got this problem after the update.

It might be unrelated to the patch. You might have hit a genuine limit if your map is 70% full!

Can you share a save or show screens? :-)

no, they are hardcoded limits. i know there is a mod to up the tree limit. the guy was looking into service buildings and stuff. not sure how thats coming along though.

It's sad to know there are limits to how much you can build. Hopefully there will be someone who can upload a mod to disable the limit or something. Thanks for the feedback.

Also having this issue :( cannot place anymore roads, powerlines ect.

Sounds like you may have been using the Unlock All Tiles mod?

I was initally yes- but seems obsolete now after the update because I still have 25 tiles without the mod. Tested with mod on and off

Its definately a bug as if, say you hit the limit and get the "cannot create..." error, even if you destroy and delete everything on that map, it will still tell you the same thing. Once you cross that bug threshold it locks into place forcing you into either starting a new map or playing without any more additions to the civic buildings, roads etc...

Just checked again and it is a timed thing, exactly around 20/05/2079 is when i cant place any more objects, and i have tried several times just sitting there not doing anything and bam it hits that time and its over, everyone check their date to see if it is the same thing.

I noticed it, too, after the update. Not immediately, though. So it may be the size of my city. Not being able to add roads is a huge challenge, as my commercial and residential areas still need to grow. I could re-zone to a higher density, but then because of the limits I can't add additional water treatment facilities. A great idea for a mod would be some way to show how close the games is to the hard-coded limits. If there are limits, fine, but I'd like to know exactly what they are so that I can plan ahead.

Thank you! I subscribed to the "Show Limits" mod, and it appears that my city is nowhere near any limit (except trees due to the unlimited tree mod).

Roads: 11088 / 32256
Road Intersections: 11088 / 32256
Buildings: 12152 / 32256
Trees: 334472 / 262139
Zone Blocks: 10477 / 32256

Do you think I need to delete over 72000 trees? (Wonderfully, there's a mod to help with that!) And, since I'm not near other limits, why am I still getting the "Cannot create any more objects of this type!" error? I can't add roads, utilities, and unique buildings.

I had the Unlimited Trees already. That's why being 70000+ trees over didn't concern me. But, as an experiement, I deleted all the trees in my city. While I got my tree count under the limit, it made no difference; i still couldn't build anything.

So I turned off the Unlimited Tree mod, and the count of my trees jumped to over 900000! So, I deleted every single tree on the entire map (including outside the city's borders). The number never got below 800000. And I couldn't build roads. (And the whole map was very bald!)

I am thinking that because my playing area uses the 25 All Areas Purchasable mod, that the game just can't handle it.
