What does leveling up a building actually do?

I notice that buildings level up in this but what does that actually do?

Higher-level buildings give you more tax income overall.

High-level residential buildings (I think) hold more families, commercial buildings attract more tourists and generate more money, and industrial buildings will produce more goods (and also generate more money via that).

To add, in addition to producing/selling more goods, leveled up commercial/industrial/office buildings will require more educated workers, and also increase overall worker capacity.

also gives you taller buildings and makes your skyline more interesting.

I was just joking with you. I usually go through both manuals and tutorials for any game I decide to play. :)

accessible from
1 the store page,
2 your library when you click once on the game(detail view).
3 when you right click the game in your library,
4 from the shift+tab overlay in game,
6 on the web
7 and finaly in the installation folder.

and that for all game on steam.
