High density or low density?
Hi! I was wondering if there is difference between those two types besides population.... I mean, is it a good idea build only high density stuff once it is enabled?

I haven't found a use for low density once high density becomes available. I always build the high density one.

If what that wiki says is true, the difference it makes is not noticeable and you should stick to high density residential if you want more people.

Also, that wiki is wrong about offices. They produce no goods and require no goods.

What you use should depend on what your infrastructure can support. That includes transportation (roads/rail/metro), and all of your services in the area.

I usually define high density zones on high volume roads (most 6 lanes, some 4 lanes depending on current traffic on that road) and low density everywhere else.

You can certainly create traffic problems if you use high density in an area that really cant support the extra bodies.

Nice! according to the wiki, low density houses bring adults that have more chance to have kids... interesting to know! i've seen a lot of people complaining because their population doent grow anymore

It all kinda depends on where you're at with the game and what kind of city you wish to build. If you're still busy with trying to unlock all the achievements, unique buildings and monuments, then high density is a must. If you are free building then it's simply up to you to decide what looks best as long as it works for you.
Personally, once I'm placing my uniques I prefer to embellish them with parks and such but also give them mini districts and restrict highrise around them. That way, regardless of high or low density, they get the airspace they need to look their best.

low density better suited for outskirts of the city. Gives it a more realistic look. I always hated those ugly cities, where people build the whole map with high density skyscrapers and same linear grid. Unlike my city :)

Yes, those just wanting to max out their numbers should build high density maxed out grid maps, but where's the fun in that? I like to grow a city as if it were real, spreading out from the dence center to the more spread out suburbs.

I do that as well, I like how it looks compared to all high density :)

Cities with only high density are ugly and unrealistic.
