How do trucks chose their train station to export?
Hello, all is in the title, I have 3 trade train station (big truck only), and I can't figure how my truck choose on or other, it does not seems to be the distance, sometimes they travel all the map to go to the station which is really far. Sometimes they use the on next to them, they can litterally pass in front of one to go to one other.
On my 3 stations, one is almost not used, and the fun fact is, it's the one which has the biggest industrie next to it.

Same question for trading boat, I have 2 trade harbor, one is use by everybody to export, the other one is only use for import.

So any clue? I would like to be able to optimize my export path :).

It's more effective to have one train station on a one way road. Wherever the trucks choose to go, they have a surprisingly large capacity if done right. Keep your routes simple or read my guide for more info ;D

It's all about shortest distance - Your factory is going to send the goods to whichever station (if any) that can get it off of the map as soon as possible.

Thank you for your response.
But:
- My train station are effective (no traffic issue at all and constant truck loading)
- I just see that they dont go at the closest.... So that's not the way they chose.

Nobody see that behavior? Seeing truck from an industry area with its own train station which go to an other train station in an other industry area (at the total opposite geographical position...)

Closest - way - To the edge of the map. Just having a train station closer to a factory doesn't mean the trip on the rail is faster than another one. They also take traffic into accoutn somewhat.

Thank you Mansen, it appears that my trains can only export in one direction (my rails network is really simple), so to go the the south it take one rail station, and the other to go to the north.
The third one is useless most of the time, because of its position compared to the other one, it's in almost all case more far from external connexion.

So I agree with you, it's sthe closest way to go out of the map which is chosen.
Thank you :)
