I'd really hate to have to build so many crematoriums. I guess the key is not having a single section of road "red" in the traffic overlay. I have a couple of bad spots and I think that's whats keeping my population stuck at 50k (and lots of death icons)
They key is green roads everywhere. Even overlap a little. space your crematoriums out evenly and just don't clump them up. not even 2 of them.
Yes, you will need a lot, just like all other services in the game.
As for traffic overlap map, it is fine to have some red, just not backed up traffic. But do keep an eye on red areas that are old and mature. New areas will be red until they fully mature from demands changing from buildings leveling up.
(note: i have multiple housing areas in my city and only 2 are affected)
This would also explain why they wind up ranging all over the place - because it's a first come first serve system that doesn't care where the corpses are in relation to a given hearse's home base.
