because a toaster has better graphic rendering capabilities than an integrated graphics card.

games that are being released now far exceed integrated graphic card capabilities even on low settings.
You clearly missed all the posts where even 970gtx/i7-4770 systems have some d.i.f.f.i.c.u.l.t.i.e.s in even moderate->high population games. (a system I own incidentally).

intel. i.n.t.e.g.r.a.t.e.d. with obvious laptop CPU specs....no.chance. :(
not supporting doesn't mean "it doesn't work"…

it simply states that, the developers cannot care less about integrated graphics cards in order to either tweak the game or improve by whatever means so low end computers can run the game… and they will not "support" you to make the game run in "non-supported" specs..

but… it does run well on my early '11 MacBook Pro with Intel HD 3000, on low settings and tilt-shifting turned off (this is what really lags the game for me), and lower resolution than the 1920x1200 native…

it does run better with the discrete Radeon HD 6750M but since it's busted (faulty manufacturing in these '11 macbook pro models) I tend not to use it since it's prone to overheat and glitch all the video...

intel graphic cards don't have enough power to really run anything in a number of years. Its like putting a lawn mower engine inside of a car sure it might be able to push the car but its going to move like 1 mph. Its the same thing with intel intergrated cards not enough power to run any modern game.

All I can say is avoid laptops in the future for what you pay for them you can build a decent PC to game on. You can go the gaming laptop route but those tend to be super expensive and money better spent on a decent PC.
I don't wanna have Oregon Trail graphics just so YOU can play it on your Apple II.
@Ahiru so you're saying that i could tun this but that I have to turn the graphical settings really low? also Check my earlier post that says my laptop specs maybe you could have a look if I could run it on very low settings
I couldn't get it to even start on HD 4000 graphics, but the lappy only has 4 gig of ram.
funny thing is, I'm running on under the specs even on operational system… it says (on Mac) OS X 10.9, I thought I had to update it, but it runs fine on 10.8

yes, to get a better framerate, everything must be as low as possible and turn the freaking tilt shifting effect off (that was an fps saver for me), lower windowed resolution helped too.

I posted my spec on another thread.
@kevinski120

My specs: really old MacBook Pro (early 2011)
- i7 eight core 2.2GHz, 17" 1920x1200 (just realised mine has 8 cores, not 4)
- 8GB 1333MHz DDR3
- BUSTED (literally, there's even a recall thing going on) AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1GB --- all 2011 MacBook Pros with that Gfx card is prone to OVERHEAT
note 1 - so the GPU is NOT active, (gonna try tomorrow at work with some super ventilation-- already tried, runs much better)
note 2 - I managed to bypass the striped boot (Mac users with a faulty logic board know what I'm talking about) and fix the OS on the integrated gfx card only.

- USING Intel HD 3000 512Mb integrated gfx card.
- OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion, prior to Mavericks/Yosemite)

okay so it might be a posibility that I am going to be able to actually run this as I sayed I don't care if it has to run with ugly graphic settings if it runs im happy

And if you buy it anyway and it doesn't run at all, you won't receive a refund. It might be better to save the money, get a better system, then come back and buy C:S (when it's on sale). But it is ultimately your decision.

Good luck!
@kevinski120 just make sure you got 8Gb RAM and somewhat similar CPU (mine is an i7 8-core 2.2GHz)
I regularly watch my washing machine playing Cities: Skylines, he can make a pretty good city but struggles once he hits th 80k mark.

But yeah, OP, my washing machine can run this game but an Int-hell integrated chip most definitely can't.
I was running the game in a i5-4590 CPU (3.3 GHz), without a dedicated video card, and the only thing I have changed is to put DETAILS to LOW. The gameplay is smooth
Actually, my Intel Integrated card can run some heavy games from Wine, without glitching or lagging, but this game ported for Linux specifically is glitching like crazy: blinking cursor, missing water (including the stream direction), no city borders or even traces of roads/pipes that i'm building... Devastating.

And my specs are not the lowest: i3 (3.3GHz x4), 8Gb RAM...

And to add more, some weird bug: when I start a new game and try to choose a terrain type, it shows me a black screen instead of terrain picture and I can't choose a type, it's disabled...
