Deluxe Edition - historical monuments - worth it?
Hi, my question goes to the historical monuments. Do they get you something extra (like more tourists or better tourist income) to the gameplay?
Or are those historical monuments just regular building avaiable only to the owners of Deluxe edition with re-skin?

no that simple it's not worth it. Get a 2nd job if you plan to buy all the DLC they will release.

Such a massive 'Meh' for Deluxe upgrade. USD29.99 for base game looks like the sweet spot. Assume lots of mods will be available.

I got the Dexluxe and I plan on getting most if not all of their DLC.

Not sure if to buy the Deluxe Edition.
I practicly bought all the DLCs and expansions for the latest SimCity and I was extremly dissatisfied. I'm not afraid to say that I also get caught by the Maxis promisses. That game is not working properly until now.
So at the moment, I am quite afraid to invest my money to all the DLCs in Skylines and I am really not sure if the Deluxe edition is really worth it.

The 5 monuments are purely cosmetic.

There are building within the base game that provides the same bonuses / stat as these monuments. So by buying the standard / base game you are not missing out on anything. These are purely optional conrent ment for the enthusiasts who would like to add more cosmetic variety.

I believe they are following the standard paradox method that CK2 and EU4 follows. There will be DLC and free updates to add additional content to the game. But there will also be seperate optional cosmetic DLC's that don't provide any bonuses to the game, but just make it look pretty and help support further free patches and updates.

I would not be supprised if the extra buildings will be available at a later date. Myself I am very tempted to get the deluxe. If you are not sure, you could always buy the base game and if you love it any want more content you can pick up the extra monuments if / when it is sold seperatly. And if money is any issue.. why you could even wait for a steam sale for any optional cosmetic DLC.

Deluxe is a combo of adding some value and letting people support us just that extra bit. Also the high quality soundtrack and nice artbook isn't too bad. I think a lot of fans will like especially the latter.

From a gameplay POV you won't miss out on much if you get the standard edition. So do what feels best for you!

Can we have the soundtrack in lossless?

As the dev said; unless you are really into this game, or want to specifically support the devs; it is quite expensive for a few ingame models, the soundtrack and some artwork.

I reckon it's in the highest quality we can provide, not sure if that means completely lossless. Let me get back to this.

Honestly I am not going to preorder any game anymore. Too many companies cheated the loyalty of the players, and now I am going to wait for a Demo or a good set of Reviews. It doesn't matter if I am going to spend some extra € or miss some DLCs.

I don't know about the deluxe edition. Maybe if you're French, American, or German you may want it. In fact I kind of wish there was something in there for us Brits so I'd have an excuse to buy it.

I'm currently waiting for Quill18's opinion on this game. He is attending the Paradox press conference this week and I believe will get to give this game a go. If he gives the game the thumbs up I will be pre-ordering this weekend. Otherwise I will wait until post-release.

A Brit monument would be nice. Maybe Big Ben or Stonehenge.
Fronto Feb 11, 2015 @ 2:54am
Stonehenge would have been a great monument to include.

Yea, it's not bad for $10. Personally I will be getting the DLC because they are doing right buy the costomers in my opinion. They really are sticking it to EA by listening to what we want... bigger maps (through progression) a level editor, and 50% the cost of the crap they call Sim City.

So yea, I will be throwing them the extra $10 for being a company that is making a game for gamers and not just to make a wad of quick cash.

Paradox is an awesome publisher, and Collosal Order makes great games. I loved CIM2 btw, and I know your Cities Skyline is going to be just as great.

One last thing CO, way to really show what the unity engine can do.
