Forestry industry won't work for me.
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone is experiencing this problem.
My forestry buildings won't build.
I have set my district (with lots of trees) to forestry, built a road, designated industrial buildings.
Nothing builds.
I have tried this in two seprate areas and neither wants to work.
Also I have ore and oil industry areas that have worked fine.
Just no forestry.

Please help.

do you have enough workers? and also are you sure you selected the correct region type? and also is there demand for industry zones?
General Zero Mar 17, 2015 @ 8:24am
yes. all other industries are operating normally. By region type you mean designate district to forestry ( yes it is ) and yes there is demands.

Zone more residential with minimal access to education.

(Or reduce your education budget or turn off some high schools.)

ahh i do have lots of schools ill try this.

I just checked, I dont think education is the problem, I have need for both elementary and high schools. Is it possible a MOD is blocking this feature?

Could it be that every though there are trees, it's not an actual forresty resource according to the resource map? I've had tree covered areas that did not show up as forrestry ressources when I viewed them with that filter.

Even if there are no trees, sawmills will still build on such land and import logs from outside your city.

That's what I'm saying. The trees don't matter. It's about whether or not the actual land is the right color when viewed in the resource map.

I have 12000 teens eligible for high school. I have 6000 capacity for students.

And still, somehow, 48% of the population is 'highly educated.' But bottlenecking my education there seems to keep industrial areas functioning.

Pretty much this. If you have a well educated populace they are going to choose higher paying commercial jobs or high tech industry.

And I'm saying that it doesn't matter what colour the land is, you can zone a functional agricultural, forest, ore or oil industrial area anywhere.

It just becomes a processing instead of producing area.

Came to this thread from a google search on this issue. In my case, no new forestry industry would build in any district I set up for it. However, on further investigation I found that no new industry of any type would spawn in any new area. Perhaps because I still had unused or abandoned zones in my two main industrial areas and little real industrial demand. 65K pop at the time, I will try again once I hit 80k.

If no industry will spawn, then you probly need more workers to build up demand.

Hey I finally and accidentally found why this doesn't work. The problem is that these types of building wont build if they don't have electricity already prepared. U have to connect the power line to the industrial zone. Even if its says that the wire isn't connected to something that is using electricity the industrial buildings shall appear. I hope this works :))
