It is in your map or it isn't. If it is, you put district over it.

Put filter for natural resources, look for Ore on the map (if you have any), make a district in that area that specializes in ore and zone it industrial.

Still dont get it. Am i supposed to put industrial zones forst then add Ore district? Also i cant put out any ore district. i can selsct it but it wont let me "paint it out"

first you have to enable the natural ressource filter. you can find all of the filters in the top left corner.
Next you search for coal or oil deposits on the map.
if you found one make a District with the same size as the deposit.
Then give the District the right specialization. for example click the ore spec. and then de district.
Now build industry in that district and they will be building coal or ore industry that will supply your city with these ressources.

Lst question: Will my coal electricity facility take coal automatically from my coal industry or do i need to do something to get more coal to it?
DragonFang Mar 15, 2015 @ 5:56am
It will get some deliveries automatically. Just a note ore and oil resources seems to get eaten up by industry REALLY fast. normally within 3 game months my specialty industry zones run out of the resource and go from being produces of raw ore to consumers of it.

if you have producing coal or oil industry it will transport the ressource automaticlly to your power plants.
Ore and Oil can run out so importing oil and coal will be needed in the futur.
Best way of doing so is to build cargo stations either via train or ship near the power plants.
keep in mind that at this moment wind is better than oil/coal, solar energy is better than wind.
Nuclear is somewhat on the same level as wind. and the damm is in most cases Terrible cause it seems to be bugged a bit.

Check out this video about creating an Industry DLC area and a specialized industry area. While farming is illustrated, it works the same for any other industry.
