Can I run this game on this computer?
First off, yes I looked at the specs for this game and I know that based on those I can't play this game on my current computer. However, based on the listed specs I should not be able to play Cities XXL and that runs just fine on the low graphics settings. I'm hoping this one will do the same, but I want to check before I spend money on it.
I have a GeForce 6150SE NForce 430 card with 256 MB of dedicated memory, processor is AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1 GHz quad core, 3.8 GB of memory, Windows 7 OS, over 600GB of space left on my hard drive.
So, if I run it on low settings will this game work on my computer?
And "buy a new computer" is not the answer I'm looking for.

Thanks

the best way for the rest of us to know if you can run this on your computer is to come back and write a message telling us that it works on your computer.
otherwise the best any of us can do is flip a coin.

remember that if you are NOT running a 64 bit operating system it's a waste of time to try to run it.

if you have to ask what a 64 bit OS is then don't bother to try.

Yes the Windows 7 OS that I am running is 64 bit. The part that I am worried about is the grapics card. And I'm not spending that much money on a game that I might not be able to play, thats why I'm asking the question.

I have similar specs,an AMD Athlon II x4 620,but with an HD7770 (with 1gb memory).
I don't have the game, but I'm thinking of buying it.

I'm just posting so I can watch this thread.

Edit:Bought it. Will play it later.

Even if you could run it, you'll have a rough time playing this game with that graphics card unfortunately.

I wouldn't recommend getting it with a 256mb card. I almost certain that would not be able to launch the game in a playable state. @MusicNote, if thats a dedicated card like the Radeon HD7770 I believe you should be fine.

i have a similar setup. x3 720 with 4th core unlocked and overclocked to run at 3.2. same videocard. 4 gigs ram. the game runs ok with smaller city sizes of about 50,000 or less. some lag when zooming out or moving the camera quickly on larger cities like 150k plus. 250k-500k maps can get annoying. i 'm not that good just loaded a few saves to test my puter. load times on new games and saves take a good bit of time. your cpu is only 2.6 mhz? i'm running at 1080 resolution. i'm really on the fence on recommeding you try it. i only spent a few minutes looking at large population maps but i don't think you'd enjoy playing them even if they ran.

That videocard is absolute garbage. I will say no, it will run at 15 fps at most.
