Hearses and their idiocy. Can someone help me fix them?
What am I to say about the Hearses. Alright I built a 20k distict singular from everything else gave it two cemetries and 3 crematoriums and it still could not get all the bodies before a place turned red and was abonded? Why? Well what I found out is I followed a Hearse when it came out of a crematorium when there was an orange skull and crossbones(before it becomes red) and instead of prioritizing it, it went to a random non-skull and crossbones and took their dead bodies. It did that several more times along with it's fellow Hearses and then the place I watched before became abonded.

My city works using highway interesctioning and one ways so traffic was not slowing it down. Why the heck do the Hearses not prioritize orange skull and crossbones?

Am I doing something wrong?

I've had problems with dead people piling up too. I suspect this will need some kind of balance patch in the future. For now just stack up on those "Granny burning factories"

Apparently people age, and if you build very fast you create a population boom. Which down the road, leads to a death... boom... It should pass eventually.

It had a deathboom once, then again, then again, so on so forth. The Hearses still don't path correctly in my city.

Fix your traffic and Crematoriums will work just fine - They replace graveyards completely too.

Never had this problem and I'm at 110k.

Make sure your traffic is running fine. If the hearses can't get to their destination in time then there's your issue.

They can get to their destination, as there is no traffic really, the problem is they're not targeting it. I can tell they're not targeting it because I watch their destination options.

If there aren't traffic problems, you don't have enough hearses (or they aren't spread out enough) to cope with the death waves in your city.

I'm at 50K with no hearse problems.

If your services (hearses, fire department, police, ambulances, etc) do not reach their destination in time, it's almost always traffic that is the problem. So, fix your traffic and you will fix your services too.

I'm at 130k and have no service issues and no traffic issues. So, it is possible...

EDIT: After reading OP's post again, I think I see the problem. If you use a lot of 1 way roads, they will play hell on your services. Your services have to follow those roads too and it will hinder them from getting to places quickly. One way roads may be perfect to avoid traffic jams, but they reduce the coverage of your services. So, either use less one way roads or carefully check how far and which way your services must travel to get to the required destination. Then place more service buildings to allow them to cover more ground faster. This is of course pretty expensive.

It might be doable in the late game, but in the early game I couldn't get a city with a lot of 1 way roads to work efficiently. I had to place crap loads of service buildings to get a good coverage and then I couldn't make any money.

And just to be sure, I'm assuming you've clicked on the hearses building and made sure they are not using the maximum amount of hearses, right? If they are using the maximum amount of hearses, it means the building is at maximum capacity, and so you need to place down another building.

Infact the hearses are a stupid idea. You might aswel add in a newspaper shop where a newspaper boy goes about delivering newspapers across the city

so far the only services i've had problems with on one ways are the hearses that is why I did not think it was them. Well crud i'll retire this city map for now till I think of a good fix. Shame too it was making me 11k before it started having death problems

You mean that a system that works in real life is silly in a game? I am... confused.

Sounds like a good idea for a mod/DLC.

I have the same issue as the OP. A dead person next to the crematorium and cemetery and the hearse comes from the other side of town. The neighboring cemetery AND crematorium had 1/7 in use..

omg... and it even went to pick up a body in another city part that was not even there. (also neighboring a cemetery and crematorium with nothing to do. I am not a big fan of the AI in this game.. Any tips on mods?

I think one hearse can pick up 7ish dead people and it will use that first before sending out another hearse?
