i guess you dont need them, as long as there are buildings, the connect ecah other with powerlines you don't see

Yep - Buildings extend a power grid. Power Lines are temporary in places where buildings will be - And to cross gaps that can't be filled with buildings.

Press Power line, you see a blue area, the blue area is where your power is..light blue is the area who needs the power.

If not connected...connect it with powerlines....not rocket science.

first i thought i have to extend it from the windwheel through the near empty space, some grids away from the houses, but even that wasnt necessary.

Power lines are an absoloute mess! If you put them into zones...and sometimes you have to, they jack up your zoning. This should have been fixed in alpha...total mess!!!!

Uh... You need to actually remove them once power has been established - When was the last time you saw big, overhead powerlines in a neighborhood?

This should have been fixed in your first 20 minutes of playing....total imbecile!!!!!11111omgexclamationmarks

Well i just had power supplied to an are where my power line was a few boxes off the blue sphere around buildings and the houses where still powered. And no it was connected by buildings blue spheres of powers to my power station. I guess power lines have there own invissible sphere or building have a bigger one than shown.

Just started the game today.
Cannot seem to find the way to remove power lines. The bulldozer does nothing...

Strange. have you tried going between the power poles?? It should come up with a green outline extending to both poles.

Thanks! I was trying to remove the poles, not the line in between (face palm)

I found a mod for underground power cabling, but I was wondering about mods and achievments? Do mods stop achievments?

Just FYI: SimCity 4 had an area of effect for power lines so you didn't have to put power lines *into* your zones only to delete them later. This game is not very good. Sorry.
