Two lane roads seem so bad
When the hell do you use these? Two lane roads seem to easily shut off buildings from services unless you build the service right next to the road. I just don't get the purpose of them.

I use them all the time. 4 Lane/6 Lane roads are your "arteries." They get people all over the city very fast. Then you have 2 lane roads coming off of them that lead to small sub divisions. You have to use them in low traffic areas (maybe a low density residential district). If you use them in busy areas of course they will be terrible.

Two lane one way roads have no traffic lights, so that's their advantage. Even when intersecting most other roads given appropriate conditions. Not sure if regular two lane roads share that advantage.

Except if you use two lane roads for a subdivision, you basically have to put service buildings right in the neighborhood for them to even get service.

I have all my services on avenues and the subdivisions get service. I've been carefully planning roads to make sure my avenues aren't backed up and this has made my services run great.

Any advice or high density housing? I seem to have the most trouble getting garbage and cemetary services to them.

The 7 hours I've put in have mostly been with low density. I have the option to go up, but I haven't really gone that route yet. My suggestion is have highways nearby with off/on ramps to avenues. Have the high density areas close to highways and not far away.

Yeah, roads are good for low density residential areas, even very large ones. They just don't demand much larger as long as you give them certain arteries to travel through towards the industry and usually a two lane one-way is more than enough to handle that issue.

For high density, you really need a one-way setup. I did that with a couple of six-lane one ways as arteries towards the industry sector. Works pretty well.
