Mac Camera Rotation
Hi guys. I'm playing on a MacBook Pro, and you are supposed to be able to click the scroller to change camera views. I'm having no such luck. I have diabled Mission Control so that does not come up, but now when I click it's doing absolutely nothing. I've tried dragging every which way. Is there a keyboard shortcut for the camera angle? It's pretty silly to play only from one view and I can't see which way I'm building my roads exactly. Thanks guys.

"R" and "End" are the shortcut keys by default.
You can change this to whatever keys you like in the options.

Thank you!

You need to change mouse config in system preference of OSX. By Default right and center buttons of mouse are disable. I had the same problem yesterday, fix in this way.

Not helping. A MacBook has a trackpad. In the trackpad settings there's nothing where we can "switch on" a third mouse button or similar.
Is there really no way to use the trackpad's gestures for rotation, zoom in/out and move around??

Yeah, I'm using a separate USB mouse (which has middle button), and it still doesn't work.
I set R and F to be tilt (instead of End), and you can pan with Q and E. It works OK, but still, I would like to be able to use the mouse instead...

Rebind keys
Adapt to Mac defaults
OR get a mouse - Like most people with a mac does these days if they expect to game.

Sure, I just wasn't aware that Mac doesn't have middle button support for USB mouses either.

What I did to fix it was to map Camera View to RIGHT mouse button instead of middle. This means that it will also cancel whatever you're doing when using pan/tilt. Still, you can use the keyboard if you need to pan while using the mouse for building a road etc.

So F instead of End for tilt, and "Right Mouse Button" instead of "Middle Mouse Button" seems to be the easiest way to make it more playable.

My solution was to go into keymapping and map "Rotate Camera Modifier" to a keyboard key (I like using BackQuote but you can use anything you like).

You can then hold that key down and use the trackpad to rotate and tilt the camera.

Realise your dilema - but it's really worth buying a cheap mouse to play this game - its much easier with a mouse. I use an old HP one with my mackbook, and it has a clickable scroll wheel, which I can use to zoom, and/or click the scroll wheel to rotate.

Tens for the save! this is perfect.

though, i gotta say, using a macbook pro, it boggles the mind how un-trackpad friendly the game is. what would be far more intuitive over using WASD is using two fingers on the trackpad to actually pan around the board. or, even, simply a "Pan Camera Modifier" - seems pretty obvious.

As of September 2017:

On a MacBook Pro, press two fingers down on the trackpad until you hear it click, and you will be able to pan and tilt the camera as long as you press down.

I tried this, but the game froze while I wanted to change it in the options menu. I work with the standard bluetooth mouse, which has a right click to, but no middle button.

The fact that the game is freezing while changeing this, is a very poor behavior. If you publish a game for mac, please do it properly, other can do it too.

I added up and down arrow to left and right arrow for camera seems much more logical to me.
