Water drain pipe not opertating?

I sarted a new game, currently doing the tutorial. I placed a water drain pipe next to my pump, they both have electricity and connected. The pump is on and says it is operating, but the drain pipe says its not operating and the game keeps telling me to add one to release the sewage even though its right there. Help on why the description says it's not operating?

Did you link your drainage pipe to the water pipe network with.... you know, pipes? I was surprised a bit at first too, but both clean water and dirty water are working on the same grid. Hope that helps :)

Yea, as I said in the post, both are connected and powered. the description would say otherwise. The only thing it says is its not operating.

I had the same problem in my game, all I did was bulldoze the line from the drainage and just put it back and everything was fine.

I have had this problem too. I bulldozed the drain pipe and built a new one, with pipe and electricity connections, and it still said "not operating." I had to quit the game.

your pump and drain pipe won't operate until something is using water and creating sewage. did you have them actually connected to buildings or just to each other?

Okay, so let me make sure I have this (I was showing not operating for a good amount of time and then suddenly it was): in effect, until sewage is generated and then maybe pushed down the pipe to drain off it'll show not operating, have I got that?

Had same problem. turns out my waste pipe are passing straight to water pump before going to city. making sure it won't went straight to pump and it works perfectly

my problem is i have water drain and sewage they both connected the same pipe and electrificy
and they both say not operating and then 5 secs later its not operating normaly but then 5 secs again they not operating again they keep reapeating
