How beginner friendly is the game?

It has tutorial messages for nearly every button you click on. If you never played a simcity game before it may take a hour to understand everything, but its not hard.
i dont realy like the tutorial because there isnt any, only text with a bit description no one can read (small text size) and by reading only its pretty hard to understand the game as a noob. the tutorial in simcity was much better at least you saw what to do and they explained it.

but well if you ever played the new simcity it will be very easy then because the game feels like a 1:1 clone just without the bugs simcity had/have.

the game doesnt explain much, but its pretty intuitive.

For example it doesnt explain what noice pollution does, but it does exactly what you think happens when you put a lout industry or wind turbine near someone home.

It actually tells you that you shouldnt put stuff that creates noise and pollution near residential areas :)

The tutorial explains exactly what everything does and what its affect is. It is certainly not going to hold your hand when it comes to placement, this game is very much trial and error. IF you really cant figure it out go watch a streamer and ask them questions, they are always glad to help. Also youtube has many videos that can help.

Pretty much. If you play without the Hard-Mod enabled, you pretty much can't loose.

I haven't played a city building game since Sim City on the original NES (like 25 years ago), and found it pretty easy to pick up after an hour.

As mentioned, there is some trial and error when learning. But it's fun while you learn :) I struggled a little bit to figure out how the water and sewage pipes were supposed to work...

I would have apprecited a tutorial that showed you the basics, like getting your water and electricty going. However, if you haven't played a city builder before, this is an excellent game to start with!

You if have never player a City Sim before you might have a hurdle or two to get over before gettign comfortable with the game. Cities: Skylines certainly doesn't hold your hand, but there is an official wiki. You can find the link in the news feed on the opening screen of the game. I would suggest giving the Wiki a read if you are uncertain of anything.
