How is the performance in Linux?
Tittle! Specs and FPS.

OpenSUSE 13.2, Intel i5-3570, 16GB RAM, NVidia GTX680.

Just started the game, getting 15fps on very high, 22 on medium...with a population of 200. Not really acceptable.
I run it on Windows with everything on Max. 60fps and not ONE drop in framerate all the time. I prefer Linux and its not playable. Same System (Dual boot). Whats going on? Its Kubuntu 14.04 with NVIDIA drivers enabled.

Xubuntu 14.04 / GTX760 / AMD FX-8320 / 8GB / Nvidia Driver.

22 and below on medium. Then low teens when I zoom in.

It's pretty bad at the moment but supposedly it's a bug that was introduced just a little before release. My system (Ubuntu 15.04, Nvidia GTX 770 running 331.113) gets about 5 frames per second zoomed in, 20 FPS zoomed out. Changing the graphics settings doesn't really change my performance at all. Hopefully it's a quick fix and Colossal Order can get to it soon.

8-15 FPS here on max settings. Lowering them does not make a significant difference.

Manjaro Linux (up to date), GTX 680, i7 870, 16 GB RAM. Latest nvidia drivers.

There seems to be a major problem with performance on Linux. i7 3770k, 670GTX, 10-20 FPS with the camera zoomed in.

I heard from a linux guy who played the pre-release version that he got 100+ fps, and then after the patch they provided just the weekend before release he got 30+ fps. So yes, performance isn't up to par. They will fix it in the next patch hopefully.

I do have 17-30 fps at the moment at 27.000 inhabitants (i7 first generation, 8 gig ram and GTX550, so pretty old system, ofc running propriatary drivers). Could be better, but it's still very much playable. Sometimes i got "lock-ups" (graphics whise), but alt-tab out and in again solves it (happens once every few hours). But I have to say it was not better nor worse at less inhabitants, so it seems to be a general problem.

Performance seems to be pretty much the same on all systems (compared to what the guys on GoL posted), so I guess they have introduced a bottleneck somewhere which can be fixed (and as I know Paradox, they'll fix it because they actually care).

Liam said he is in contact with the devs already and sent them traces/logs or what-so-ever, so I guess they are actively working on it or at least analyzing it.

That sounds good to me!

How do you measure the FPS in C:S (under Linux, if that matters)?

I've just been using the Steam overlay. There's an option in your Steam settings to enable an FPS counter.

Ahh I see, thanks a lot for the Info.

For those who are using linux... Is it using all the cores like windows version does?
dc2 12. März 2015 um 4:22
@boxman: yep it does, uses all 8 cores of mine, all with load of 30-50%.
@boxman: No, not for me. My system is at 30% cpu usage. I have 4 cores. The C:S process is using 140% out of 400%. So its 1 and a half cores. Round about.
