How are the in-game tutorials for Skylines (for a City Builder noob)?

I was excited for the new Sim City, but luckily I've never been a Day 1 buyer. I've never played a city builder, but I've been craving one lately for some reason.

I've been watching reviews for Skylines and people seem to be pretty happy with it. However, it looks extremely intimidating. Are the tutorials in-depth enough for someone who's new to City Builders? Or do you have any recommendations for a different game I should start with?

EDIT - Thanks for the responses everyone! Sounds like I might want to try a more straightforward City Builder before giving this one a shot.

According to the reviews there is very little in the way of tutorials. But things unlock gradually and tip boxes appear (these were generally ignored by Let's Players with unintended hilarious results).

There are plenty of Let's Plays out there if you get stuck or ask here/Paradox forums.

Yeah I was just about to post a thread asking how the heck you play this.

I mean I get a light description when I click on a tool for the first time, but an experienced SC player here and I don't get why there are two narrow empty zones either side of the road I placed, and why when I place residential it fills up a bit of them or all of them but I don't drag out the tool.

Ddn't want to have to teach myself. Will wait till I've managed to find some actual instructions I guess!

Ohhhhh. It witholds all the controls until you've done something it wants you to do. I wanted to try the brush sizes, couldn't see them anywhere. Only when I got frustrated and just clicked a load of residential I didn't want to place did it decide it was time to let me see the brush buttons.

Just give me a proper tutorial please :(

No, I wanted to play and discover the game for myself, not watch someone else experience all that good stuff before I got chance to.

It's just that playing it without any obvious instructions, or tutorial to work through, is more of a frustrating first experience for me.
