Please tell me the maps are bigger then in Simcity.
Hello there, i was and still am a massive Simcity 4 fan, even played the hell out of Simcity 2013 eventhough it was kinda bad.

A few bad City builders later, (CitiesXXl etc...) I saw this, and this looks REALLY good!
My only question before i buy this, are the maps bigger then Simcity 2013?

Something more into Simcity 4 direction?
Because in Simcity 2013 this was absolutely horrible, so limited, the big city feel was gone.

Anyway people, thanks for reading!

Up to x9 times bigger officially and confirmed, although the door is open to make them x25 times bigger via mods.

the maps are 9 times bigger then in Simcity. The buildings require less space. There is a big chance that someone will make a working mod that opens up the posibility to unlock all 25 tiles available.

I have read you start with a size that is as big as the last simcity BUT while you play you can expand it and gain ~9 times the size.

Also there is already a mod to have 25 times the size of the starting area (but i dont think any pc right now could handle such a big city). So i guess the limit is the power of your pc when it comes to how much you build on this big big map.

Thanks man!
Appreciate it.

So you basically buy more tiles for your city, or am i misunderstanding something?
This seems awesome!

But, i just have to ask, is there any possibility there will ever be some kind of multiplayer?
Like in Simcity or something?

I will definitly buy this either way!

9x bigger officially and there's also that 25x mod that's already been done and tested once. The guy had i7 3770k, 960 and 16gb with 70k town on 25 tiles. It ran nicely. So things are looking promising to say the least.

No multiplayer. That would've been a distraction since they only had 13 women and men on the job compared to Sim City's hundred+. Very small chance of adding that later, but who knows. It's already proving to be way bigger hit than anyone thought. But adding MP would require a Colossal rewrite ;)

You unlock new tiles by growing your city and you have to buy the new plots once unlocked.

No multiplayer, and I don't think they will make one... Although it could possibly be a DLC down the road or something. The developers will likely support the game for quite a while given its success so who knows..

Nice!
So, has anybody heard anything about how good this game ACTUALLY is?
I see that many people can already play, many people have watched stuff too, is this game just amazing or does it have its flaws?

Well, if multiple streamers clock in 10-15 hr sessions out of their own free will you can be pretty sure that they are addicted to the game. Overwhelmingly positive reception. Even Minecraft's and DayZ's creators are hooked.

Nope, you're exactly right.

When you first start out, you'll be on a 2km x 2km tile of land. Then, once you reach a certain population, you'll unlock the ability to buy surrounding tiles, each 2 km x 2 km. A map is 25 tiles, and you can buy up to 9 of them (or all 25 with mods, as we've seen).

Good news, everyone! This mod is already made and has been confirmed to work. 25 usable tiles are (non-)officially in the game at launch!
