Traffic Manager, make official implementation!
The traffic manager mod works great, but it gives certain problems now and then.

Can Collosal Order make an Official implementation of something similar to the traffic manager mod, because this game focuses alot on traffic and traffic congestions.

The ability to change the functions on the robots will really help, because the robots now works as a simple 2 way and causes major traffic jams on intersections which is unneccsarily. The ability to instruct the order in which the lights must change and how long the timers must be will really help if its made as an official part of the game and not some mod.

Hell no! Keep it as a mod. It might provide solutions to those players that aren't able to manage their traffic without it, but making it a standard feature is totally unnecessary and I personally do not desire it. If you want the ability to have control over how traffic lights work, then use the mod. Traffic management does not require that much micro management and bloating the core game unnecessarily is a waste of my space.

As a good compromise it could be DLC :)

That implies there is something wrong with how traffic is and that you need a tool to "fix" it. I'm still new and learning but realized early on that the right changes and design of your roads make all the difference and to me that's part of the challenge to growing your city.

Agreed. The devs decided on a more basic approach to the simulation. Traffic manager would far too in-depth/micromanagement compared to the rest of the game.

if you look at some of those awesome mods, it make u wonder does normal player why spent so much time modding the game instead of playing it

i think those outstanding modders are likely outsourced by the company in a way to address what they can't deliver, but still not gonna make those things as official stuffs
this is good for them as it will be provided as non-supported feature, and yet it may address many limitations of the game

in short, i bet they won't make these official. it's a use-at-your-own-risk thingy

CO/Paradox have stated multiple times in the last AMA that they don't plan on doing much more with roads. To make super-flexible and customisible road system would be massive project for them with little return on investment. And as for why modders do it, most of them do it because they enjoy the challenge of improving a game, to learn new stuff and experiment with different ways of doing things.

Well there is few issues with traffic. Biggest thing for me is how they drive, totally ignoring the lane markings and traffic law. If for example you have T-junction with 4 lane roads, traffic coming from the right and traffic coming from the bottom and turning left will collide when they try to go over to same lanes. Same happens from bottom to right and left to right traffic flows.

With Traffic ++ you can make the top most lane straight only, 2nd lane is the turn into this / turn from this to bottom lanes and presto, you traffic flows over the intersection to its own lanes without any issues. Same happens on the right side of the T and bang, your capacity just went up and traffic flows more realisticly.

What about traffic lights on 4 way intersection with only 2 cycles? Turning left and going straight on the same cycle and nobody gets through? With Traffic manager you can customize these again to maximize the flow and behave more realisticly.

So yeah, not essential but extremely helpful and can offer something what even the best road layout can't.

The reason I like the traffic mods so much is because it allows me to retain existing infrastructure for longer. Rather than bulldozing entire city bloks to make way for bigger/better roads as my city grows, I can tweak my existing roads to adapt them to changing conditions. For me that's a very fulfilling/rewarding activity; I like being able to squeeze more capacity out of the stuff I've already built.

I also really enjoy traffic manager and traffic++. I find that they give very realistic tools. I mean in real life you often see no left turn junctions, different speed limits on different lanes, traffic lights timed for a green combo, double lines that you can't cross etc. All of this is essential to make traffic flow in a real city. In real life you also have to cope with past mismanagement by using clever tricks to make your undersized infrastructure work. But I support keeping them as mods. Even though they wouldn't disturb the game - you are free to use them or not use them. I'm happy with how things are.
