but it still doesn't explain the affects of the value amount has in game. for instance: Entertainment radius, does this mean that only citizens in that radius go to that park?
why are there 3 classifications for tourists? and is this the value that brings the amount of people that visit? or is it Entertainment accumulation?
where's the ratio on generating visitors but not a lot of traffic?
The three values are for the three different type of tourists; low income tourists, medium income tourists and wealthy tourists. The total number of these three values is the 'Visitor capacity'.
For example:
30 low
30 medium
30 wealthy
--------------+
90 visitor capacity.
Entertainment value is the amount of happiness the park/building generates to the buildings that fall within it's radius.
Not sure what you mean. Visitors that go to that park also generate traffic. Some as pedestrians, some by driving their car, some use public transportation.
also, then the 'entertainment values' contribute nothing to stirring up traffic?
asking about 'ratio', i was thinking that everything contributes to generating visitors. higher values makes more people want to visit.
sorry for the silly questions. it would be nice if the game had popup tips when hovered.
As for traffic; Parks, plaza's and unique buildings don't really stir up traffic. As these do not have any events related to them. They're open 24/7, and they're visited constantly. Therefor the traffic is pretty much allways the same.
Only events (concerts, soccer match in stadiums, sporting events in the stadiums from the Campus DLC, rocket launches etc.) really stir up traffic. As these tend to have time sensitive gatherings of lots of cims.
As for ratio; You are correct. The higher the visitor capacity in combination with the entertainment value, the higher the visitor numbers will be.
i'm asking because a few people out of 20,000+ say my beach is making too much traffic. don't know if those few(5 or 6 out of 75 positive comments) just didn't plan their city right or my beach is going to be a disaster for people... me, myself, use 'TM:PE' to despawn traffic because i'm not good at not generating a butt load of traffic.
As for managing traffic; There are a lot of elements and aspects involving traffic, and even after several years you can learn new tricks. Can you make some screenshots of area's where you're experiencing traffic issues? Perhaps I (and others) can give some pointers.
i'm still the same person. the author of this thread. some people commenting on my beach asset saying 'too much traffic'. trying to figure out, if i make another 'parks' asset, how to set values.
oh, i gave up on worrying about traffic anymore. so many years on the Xbox version, trying so many different ways to try not to have traffic. i don't want to bother anymore. when CS2 comes out, i'll start from scratch with trying to manage traffic. maybe they will have worked out the bugs.
I subscribed to the park asset you created and posted. A visitor capacity of 1500 and entertainment value of 500 is very high indeed.
My recommendation is to lower these to the following levels:
Entertainment value: 250
Visitor count: 50 low, 50 mid and 50 high for a total of 150.
You've allready got 16 large hangaround markers in the asset. Not 100% sure, but I believe these will show cims even if there aren't any visitors.
I've been doing local testing with a duplicate but with these levels:
Entertainment value: 150
Visitor count total: 300
and i don't see much difference with people on the beach...
i just want to make it look like somewhat of a busy beach.
not sure what this means.
150 and 300 sounds like good values.
The asset itself is really nice. Very simple but effective. I've seen the screenshots on your Workshop page, and they look amazing.
I'll do some proper testing this weekend, and place a coouple on the beach in my city. Here's a screenshot of my build. I'll place your asset on the beach in the top-right corner of the picture, and see how traffic will be: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2826954003
If you want to update your asset, but don;t know how, feel free to ask. I've done several updates of mine: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198030726872/myworkshopfiles/
i already updated that asset when i changed the browser picture from within the asset window in game. is that the correct way of updating?
also, i don't want to update that one unless i get a lot of complaints about traffic.
