You have made it easy for me.
Having almost 1400 hours in this game, and with just enough mods to enjoy the game, i'm done. When you update this game with what ever DLCs you think are going to bring new people to play, you destroy it for everyone else that have had the game.

I'm tired of spending hours after an update trying to figure out what simple mod was broken. Even the "compatibility report" doesn't reflect everything that is broken. I unsubscribed to one mod as the game told me it was out of date, and it removed another mod and the game froze on startup.

You are very well aware how mod heavy this game is and you continue to break it with every update you send. Like you don't really care how your game has grown WITHOUT YOU. How about you stop with this and leave it alone. Your fan base has created great cities. I have spent hours on at least 10 that I can remember. Some have been created with your DLCs, but many without.

But with all that being said, I've wasted time letting you know I've loved this game and the many days of enjoyment it brought. All this game will now be is a memory.

Maybe you should focus on your Cities 2, instead of continuing to break the game we already have (I guess HAD with this last update being forced on us).

Updates should be optional because I agree this is BS

u surley aint havin it easy in the first place ;-P be happy they update their game and wait for modder to upload the changes...this will be the last update afaik so stay strong!

CO has said they are not responsible for mod contents or mods breaking your game. Other then making updates optional, there is nothing they can do about this. they have to update their game for the community to keep playing the game

I have disable mods and my cities won't launch.

Having my cities broke because a mod is absent, no problem, I understand it. Having a city that doesn't load, no.

It happens at every update. That s.h.i.t is exhausting.

If you would just wait a few days until the modders get their code updated to run with the new game code, they will update as well and the game will start. I always wait a week or 2 before playing again and have no issues once all is said and done.

You'll buy the DLC & CS2 though, right? So where's the incentive to change?
As long as the dollars roll in that's all that matters. But put all that together with realising that the total game costs more than the system I use to play it... well I might just use that CS2 money for a new GPU and save the future cycle of pain.

I think CO also knows or supposed to know that without the mods, assets, everything created by players & devs, the game is below average. I can bet that quite high percent of players are playing this game because of mods&assest are making the game very realistic. Not because stupid designs of everything of game itself.

AT LEAST GIVE PLAYERS AN OPTION NOT TO INSTALL YOUR UPDATES WHICH FK'S PEOPLE'S SAVE GAMES THAT IS SPENT HUNDREDS OF HOURS!

Mods break when there is an update because the code they reference changes. Sometimes this is because we fix a bug, sometimes we add a new feature, and sometimes due to optimizations. While I understand that not everyone sees the value in these updates, they are part of our support for the game. And for players who do not mod the game, these are highly requested.

We work with our modding community providing early access to modders so they are able to prepare updates, but these aren't instantly available. The modders need to manually update their mods, and as modding is a hobby they are often at work/school, asleep, or have other real-life commitments when a patch goes live - and as our modders come from all over the world this is always the case no matter what time of day we patch the game. Please be patient as they get a chance to update mods.

Reverting game updates is not something we offer for Cities: Skylines as it wouldn't solve anything, it would just push the issues onto the modders plate. When the mods update for the new version, they reference the new game code, so they would also be broken on the older version of the game.

I understand it's frustrating to not be able to play the game, but unfortunately, troubleshooting is part of the deal when you mod a game that's still supported and receiving updates. We have an amazing modding community who do their best to make it as smooth for you all as possible, and we have a pinned thread to bring you the info you need to determine when it's safe to open modded games. But it does take usually about a day to a few days - in the meantime you can always check out the new content in the unmodded game using the -noWorkshop and/or -disableMods launch options.

I run more than 50 mods. Currently can't load the game. With the last couple of DLCs/updates everything has been running again within a couple of days. It is very annoying, but the fact that fixes are implemented within only a couple of days is actually pretty impressive. I have 4 mods throwing errors, 3 of which are supposed to be updated sometime today. As irritated as I am, CO can't control the mod creators. They give the creators early access to be able to update the big mods, which they don't have to do.

Yes, why not let us pause updates for a few days?

Network Multitool, Intersection Marking Tool and Node Controller are the 3 that are giving errors and are supposed to be updated today. Advanced Stop Selection is the other one that is giving errors, but no update info the last time I looked. I went through the spreadsheet and replaced all the mods that I had that had new versions. I also unsubbed and resubbed all the other mods. I'm currently getting the no mods/mods disabled loop and nothing but blue sky when I start a new game.

I agree it's super boring but CO has always warned us. I am also one of those who are afraid for their city at this time. But what is certain is that we can count on awesome modders and a community full of resources to help us :)

Thank you Avayna. Should put an end to long time dispute and useless unproductive false claims.
