If you don't buy it, that's fine, you get the Day & Night.
You don't get the bike and bus lanes, the Taxis, the beach Front assets, the bigger airport, the new cargo dock etc.
14,99$ is not 14,99€
♥♥♥♥ logic...
Blame Greece I guess :l
That's okay as there are no beaches in the middle of the uk.
For instance in Europe there are often Taxes applicable to the price that American buyers don't have.
It's often the reason why $15 becomes 15 Euros or £15.
At other times that doesn't happen.
It's all very arbitrary.
I'll have to compare the DLC price with the price I paid for the base game. For me, 30%-50% of the game price (depending on content) is pretty reasonable.
Even if "expansion" does the job a little better than current mods, I'm very underwhelmed.
I'd love to support Finnish game companies, but paying extra for this is a no-no..
- They delivered a 100% functional game at release
- They delivered planned features for free (the tunnels e.g.) as promised
- They delivered additional content for free
- The game is well done from all sides: Support, all possible Steam-BuildIn-Functions, taking care when updating
But not a single cent more than 15 € - I can totally understand that people think that is too much for this DLC. But 10 € would be somehow to low; In my opinion the release price was cheap enough (too cheap for that game I think) so this price is OK.You are free to wait for a sale.
I see a lot of people saying 15$ or 15 euros is too much, that they will buy it but not 1 cent more, etc ... Some people refusing to buy it because of the price, etc....
I think this is all very funny.
I go to the movies, I buy popcorn and a drink, I put gas in the car to get there, and all this cost me like 25$. For 2 or 3 hours entertainment.
For 15$, you get hours and hours and hours of playtime, additional content to an awesome game, and you give money to a small team of devs that made dreams come true to the city builders community.
I don't know what's going on. People are either cheap, or poor. I even wish we would get 15$ DLCs every month. I would even pay 50-100$ to get extra content.
I think people need to look at the entertainment value versus other entertainment options, and this is one of the cheapest EVER.
Well, yes: Ppl are poor. There's something called crisis going on here in Europe. I dont go to the cinema for example because its very expensive and I rather prefer to spend the money in more important things. But this is jsut something personal.
I will not buy it right after release, I will wait for a good sale as I always do with DLCs.
Edit: forgot to say that I support these developers but my priorities in what to spend my money are different from others right now. Im no saying that they dont deserve the money but this is a free market and they need to fit in that market in its current situation.
I don't have a car. I travel by bike among other things because, you know, it's free.
I don't remember last time I went to the movies. It's been many years.
I don't have a TV in the house. In the UK one should pay taxes to have live TV, and it's not that cheap, so I chose not to have it.
The computer is pretty much my only form of entertainment -- for gaming and youtube. The latter which is, you know, free.
So yes, I do find £12 rather expensive for an expansion hence I'm not buying it. Not because I don't want it, but because I can't justify it "in the grand scheme of things".
Different people live different lives in different conditions. And all that is considering that I live in a 1st world country.
Honestly, I find your posture rather offensive. To say the least. Just because someone finds a product too expensive for their taste you need to come online and and rub in their faces: "But hey, how is that expensive? Look, I have a car, I have money to burn it in gas, I can go do the movies, do I don't get where the problem is."
Get out of your bubble. Go spend some time in Africa doing charity work. The world is a rather big place and it's quite diverse.
Well since almost everything in your life is free, I'd expect that you would at least say that you were happy with the 15$ DLC since you seem to not pay anything for nothing. LOL
Anyway, I am not that rich of a person, middle class, I do pay for my entertainment, and I was just pointing out that 15$ is nothing. To anyone.
2 pack of cigarettes costs more than 15$. 1 night with friends at a bar or at the movies, costs more. Cable TV and netflix and all those other entertainment, costs more. A box of 12 beers costs more. Many many things costs way more than freakin 15$.
Cities Skylines can bring thousands of hours of entertainment. Not hard to do the math. And it's funny also that players feel entitled to get all later DLCs and updates for free. If you can't afford them, don't buy them. Period. Especially if you're a casual player. But if you are a hardcore fan, and you know you will play for months, I don't see why 15$ is an issue.
I'm pretty sure not everyone in here lives on a tight budget, there's probably way more people that can afford 15$, every 3 months for a new DLC, compared to people who count every freakin cent in their budget. If you can't afford cable TV, night at the movies, a car or other stuff, maybe gaming and internet fees are not for you either.
