Gift cards where to purchase
Hi guys. I want to buy a Steam gift card/voucher but I do not know where to purchase them from. I live in Australia.
I have looked up the two major stores that are local, EB Games and JB HiFi, but there was nothing listed on there site.
Is there a way to buy them direct from Steam?
I want them for two reasons. One to buy the expansion pack due out in a few days, very excited with this. The other is to give as a gift to my daughter who is not old enough to have a credit/debit visa or Paypal.
If you know where I can either buy them in person or online cold you please point me in the right direction with maybe store name or a link?
Thanks gys I really appreciate it

What would be the use of buying a gift card directly from Steam and then use it to buy a game for yourself? Wouldn't it be easier to just buy the game instead?

You can also buy a game for someone else, as a gift. So you could buy a game for your daughter.

I intend on purchasing the game for myself directly now I know you can do this. But I have no idea how to purchase games as a gift for someone else. Can you explain the process to me please? As I do not want to buy a game and not be able to pass it on to her. Thanks for the advice and tips I appreciate it

You buy it online and get an activation code. You give the code as a gift and insert it in your steam account. Simple.

When shopping on Steam, you put stuff in your cart. When checking out, you can choose between purchasing for yourself, and purchasing as a gift. Just don't try to buy a game for yourself and one as a gift at the same time.

I think you can only gift to someone who is on your Steam friendslist, to avoid mistyping the persons name.

That is when you buy it elsewhere, not on Steam.

Thanks for that. I am sorry to be a pain. But I have never purchased games online before, I have just pre ordered the After Dark So I am presuming it is the same process. Thanks ChrisBackmann I do appreciate
