Missing items from toolbar

I think my installation of this game is messed up but it is mainly my fault for overdosing on mods/assets from the Workshop!
First the default Water Treatment Plant disappeared from the building toolbar. I tried deleting the modified version I had downloaded but that didn't fix it. OK so that was annoying but I could manage without it.
Next, the tool for adding stops to metro lines vanished from the menus - it should be at the far right of that menu next to the tool for building tunnels. That is harder to do without - basically I can't construct any new metro services without being able to set up the routes.
Today, the default menu for parks has vanished as well...the Decorations tree icon only brings up the various prop categories (from the beautification mod) and not the ploppable parks (neither the vanilla ones or any ones I have downloaded that should come under that category.
I am in the process of cutting down on the number of assets I have but think I need to reinstall the game, so how do I do that in Steam?

Sorry to Bump this but it is stopping me from enjoying the game. Any suggestions for solving this would be much appreciated.

Have you already tried verifying the game cache?

I'm having similar issues. I tried to reinstall the game using steam but for some reason the mods were not removed/unsubscribed from steam so when I restarted the game I had no mods but when I browse the workshop I can still see that I sub. to lots of mods.

I've tried to remove the mods from steamapps/workshop/content/-insert-your-install-number-here

That removed my subscriptions and let me re-sub to the mods I wanted but they still do not show up in the game.

I have these wierd problems where tab icons are gone and other things. This usually happens if I play one map, save and jump to main menu and play another one or repload the same one. I found this problem is solved by, if I ever leave a map for anything, close out CS and go to desktop. When I relaunch game everything is normal. This may not be the same problem you have, but it's something to keep in mind.

This game with mods and assets eats a lot of memory and for a player to leave one map and go to another map without closing the game, can cause problems. The PC with all memory being used up has a hard time jumping to another map without issues.

I think I'm having the same issue too and I don't even use any mods for this game, never have. So far I have noticed it mainly with the Water building menu. The water pipe disappears as well as the left and right arrows to scroll through the menu, so if the pipe has simply moved out of view then I can't get back to it.

It's fixed by quiting the game and loading it up again.

Edit: I figured it out. It has something to do with selecting the sub group buttons. Need to press the same one twice to switch off the subgroup category, which makes everything display at once again. And what is confusing is the "Net Structures" subgroup has a road as an icon. We need to press this if we just want to display pipes. And yet they use pipe icons for the top tabs for Water & Sewage and Heating? Yeah, just confusing.

Not sure if this relates to you , but i was missing the move it icon from tool bar ,after two hrs of searching for a fix , i opened my eyes in game and the dam thing was hiding behind the video icons bottom right corner just sticking out a bit , so i was able to drag it into view.
