What map is good for beginners?

just got the game and was wondering if there was a good starter map

When i was just figuring out the game mechanics, i was playing on the vanilla maps and they were okay for starting out.

Pick some map with a ocean and a river with a lot of running water so you can use boats and hidroeletrics.
BTW, auto-promoting myself a bit, I made a map inspired in Skye/Scotland, I was looking for a place to "copy" with mountains, rivers, waterfalls and ocean (to have a nice playable map with a good view) and found this place, and I add a lot of resources (I don't even use then, but to made it easy to begginers): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=438111552

Some vanilla maps are fine for starting out. What will probably be easiest for a beginner is a map that does not force anything on you. Big, flat, and open. You can experiment with different development plans without running into terrain that constrains your choices. The Diamond Coast map is flat and open, a good choice. The Islands map is a bit more constrained, but it does have a very good hydro power location near the start. Those are the two vanilla maps I liked best as a beginner.
