But when the want houses? Do they want Single story Houses or Multistory Houses?
Same as my Commercial Q above. Do they want Small Shops or do they want Multistory Commercial Buildings or Office Buildings. Without just guessing or what looks pretty?
thanks for the replys,
g
I also feel that, rather than zoning to keep them in balance, you can tweak demand by adjusting taxes. If the bars are high, raise taxes; if low, lower taxes.
If the Blue bar is through the roof and the other 2 are ok in the middle. I want to go to the town hall meeting and find out just what the people want.
1. More shops and hamburger joints.
2. More Multi layer Commercial Buildings or
3. More Office Space.
Or do I just guess? (I'm a good guesser.)
thanks again
g
It just means they want commercial zoning. Also offices are industry, not commercial.
How you want to build your city is up to you. If you want to have families, use low density. If you want young adults and adults, build high density.
How you meet that demand is up to you. You can zone a lot of low density, or fewer high density.
You also want to introduce offices a bit later in the cycle as you gain a more educated workforce. Higher-educated workers will rather work in offices than the factories, although factories need a small number of high-educated works as well (Think management types).
My biggest recommendation is to use real cities as a guide. Take a look at Google Maps and other maps to get ideas on how to lay things out.
Ah, thanks, I had forgot that Offices were Industry. That makes it easier to guess. It's been working though. I've owned a long time, just haven't played in a long time.
I just figured they'd have a place to find out the exact demand. Like: We want more offices or a graft. Some games you can click on the people and they tell you. Maybe I'll try that.
Let's try this one:
On the bottom left there's an exclamation mark. When open you have the different Houses, Commercial, Industry bars going across. Like one of mine is 2 bars Green and then the third Bar is have blue. One, the 3rd Bar is full Blue with the first 2 Green.
I thought maybe these might be saying which area they want when they want. Again like when the Office icon has 1 Green Bar filled in and the 2nd Area of the Bar is full or mostly Blue. They want some Offices?
Probably not though. If not, what does it mean?
thanks

(So much for the quick question.)
Ok, Yow I remember seeing something about Level on that page.
WhiteKnight, I don't know what you want a screen shot of. The Office Buildings build themselves on the light blue squares. But I was placing them when the Blue Commercial Bar was rising, not the Gold Industry Bar.
I'm iRacing now anyway. Long practice, qualified 6th, got ran into twice on the 1st lap. Got to try again another hour or so.
thank, enjoy
