Roads not creating zone areas

Hi, I'm new to this game. I started a new game and going through the tutorial it asked me to make a road and said that zone areas will be automatically placed alongside the roads.

The first road I made did create zone areas but when I tried to expand further and make more roads, there's no zone grids next to them to allow me to place more zones.

How do I create more roads with zone areas and why did it stop creating the zone grids?

therer is a build in option to toggle zoning... check if you have unknowingly disabled it

Okay thank you, that's good to know. I restarted a new game and it doesn't seem to be happening anymore so maybe you are right, I may have disabled it.
