I think is still good?
terrain.party is still active too.
It is, but when I try to make a map, it only gives me a readme file containing this, regardless of where in the United States or the world I attempt to make a map:
Height Maps
-----------
No height map data was available. That's a bummer.
If you're way at the poles, that's probably why. Orbital measurements only go
so far away from the equator.
If this area is filled with water, try a box that has less water. That's
probably a good idea for gameplay reasons anyway.
Otherwise, this could be a problem with terrain.party. Retrying the link above
at a later time might help, or try posting it in the Discuss link for help.
At any rate: there's no height maps here. Sorry!
according to the issues page on github there seems to be a problem with the mapbox api access token (the map generator is also available on github, theoretically you can install it yourself).
There could be multiple reasons why this all of a sudden happened.
Maybe it exceeded the maximum of free active users per month or mapbox changed the pricing policy or both or the token simply expired... or heightmap.skydark.pl had been blocked by mapbox
no idea.
I'll check that out. Thanks!
However this might not work forever, judging from the issue with heightmap.skydark.pl
Thank you!
