My game keeps crashing with a green screen
The issue started a couple of weeks ago. I would be playing and then my screen goes solid green and my pc resets. It usually would happen at least once a day and then I could play for hours. Today it has happened at least 5x in a row and is getting to the point where the game is unplayable. I started a new city about 4x ago. I'm not sure if it might be related to my RAM status but currently i have approx 10 GB. Thoughts?

You will need to provide far more information about your computer than you have. At the top of the page, click "Help", then click the 5th option; "System Information". Copy the text of the pop-up window, and paste it here. This is your System Specs, as STEAM sees them.

Without that info, I can only guess at your issue with what you have provided: green screen and PC freeze/reset, and "10Gb of RAM" .. First, the Green Screen: The first thing that indicates to me, is a Graphics issue. maybe a failing GPU, maybe a Heat issue with your GPU, possibly that you are just using an integrated Graphics chip that is not up to the task.

Second, 10Gb of RAM is no where near enough, and is a very odd amount, as RAM generally comes in multiples of 4 .. 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 etc.
Ideally, if you play with Mods, you will want 64Gb of RAM and a minimum 64Gb Page File.

My first guess iss The graphix driver needs to be updated.
Ssecond try to verify the game.

In the modern windows 10 & 11 era, it is very uncommon for a program or game to reset your PC. This sounds like a hardware fault to me, or perhaps a graphics driver issue. The reason that it happens when playing CS is that the game is probably stressing your hardware and this is when the fault occurs.

My two favourite culprits would be the RAM and/or the graphics drivers. There are programs available that will perform a stress test on your computer, which is basically what a computer store would do if you took it in for a test. I'm not as up to date on which of these is any good anymore, but some research on the Internet would provide some answers.

I see you have 16GB. As others have suggested, this is probably not enough for CS. I would also be tempted to ditch the 16GB and go for 64GB (or 32GB) and see what gives. However, I'm also loath to spend money on an old computer that might be dodgy.

I see the drivers are dated 24/08/2023. I would see if there is an update to the drivers as well.

Cheers,
Chris.

Awesome. Thanx as always for the helpful info! :-)

One thing I see, that might point to an issue, is that your VRAM (GPU RAM) is "not detected" .. this, with the Green Screen could indicate a failing GPU .. You might want to do a GPU Stress Test (Internet search GPU benchmark or GPU Stress Test for the software).
