Does not even have to be Steam Workshop, lots of other PC games have non-Workshop mods as well, that are not available in console versions, if they are available.
As others said, PC games and Consoles are different. Graphics and game software is tailored to specific console and cant be used on any other console.
You see the same thing happening with CS2. Such a shame...
I'll bet if they'd focussed on a PC-only version, the game would be a lot better than it is now...
Still, with the XBox, users now had access to playing MP games and not just local MP with your friend on the couch, but across the world. As consoles moved forward, users were given the ability to change hard drives, and that the console itself needed updates to its software and operating systems as well as drivers or BIOS changes.
Later models allowed for more peripherals as well as access to websites and the ability to use a keyboard. Still, one could not use mods. As it is, console manufacturers have rules that any updates to games has to go through a certification process by the manufacturer before the game updates (patches) can be pushed through to game owners.
This still can put a hamper on how games that are released on both consoles and PC are made as seen above. PC games tend to be "dumbed" down. RSE did it right with Ghost Recon. While originally a launch game for the XBox, it landed on the PC first due to the XBox not being ready for release until later. Still, with just a few minor changes, both versions played the same way, though the XBox version could not be modded outside of the noted editor above.
I don’t understand why you would want to take something away from people just because you don’t have it? You must realize that the Workshop has brought a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction (and in some cases donation revenue) to modders and asset makers, a great deal of enjoyment and variety to players and extended the life of the game, to the benefit of players and the financial and reputational benefit of the developer.
The Workshop for this game has been a big success, as I see it.
Would you not consider buying the game for your computer? If you really like the game and think you would love having the Workshop option, seems like a sensible investment.
Just exactly what I just said at #3.
You're in LUCK ! CS2. Just for you. :)
So, you compound your existing lies with more lies?
EDIT: Just noticed, holy thread necro batman
