Snowfall DLC without snow?!
I just bought the snowfall DLC, loaded my city, upgraded heating and road management and so on waiting anxious for the snow to come and see how it look. Waiting. The Snow. To come.
But where is the snow? lol. I mean if i can't apply snow on my already existing city and have to build in a snowy map, then what is the point, since i built and tweaked my current city for days. 2 years have passed already on the new DLC.

Aaanyway, the question is: where is the snow?

You have to choose a new map. It wont apply to your existing city but.... i saw that there is a MOD that changes the season of your maps.

Duh! Mr Obvious. But why should i build a new map when it's already built

I will look for a MOD, pfft
everyone gets snow, all you get from the dlc are trams and heating. I might get it purely for the trams

even without the dlc you get snow to??

The climate mod doesn't work. Now this is really silly
Useless Noodle Mar 14, 2016 @ 10:16pm
wrong mod, climate mod changes the temp, not the visual

you will need environment theme changer
Empusa Mar 14, 2016 @ 10:29pm
Tried that too. When i loaded with different environment, half of my buildings were gone lol
Useless Noodle Mar 14, 2016 @ 10:46pm
you will also need winter building unlocked + europe building unlocked
Empusa Mar 14, 2016 @ 10:55pm
Oh, so i have to change the theme to european if i change climate to european?
Useless Noodle Mar 14, 2016 @ 11:04pm
no, you need to make sure you have the builidng style of the current theme still can be used in new theme. By switching theme you are default to unlock the building style of that theme already. Climate only affect temp, not building.

ex: you are on europe theme, if you switch to winter theme + international style, you will lost all europe building. to prevent that you will need europe building unlocked.

winter theme itself isnt a "theme" but just additional service buildings + park.

Gotcha! Will try that. Now i have to see if i can recover my saved map since in the frenzy of deleting tens of quicksaves, i deleted my last saved map too. Lol

You obviously didn't take time to read the specifications of the Snowfall expansion prior to purchasing it. It very clearly states how the snow effect works on specialist maps. There is also heaps more information on how the expansion works on various forums/ game reviews and Youtube posts. So much information at your fingertips...

Too late now. I would have bought the expansion anyway, that is not the issue. It obviously didn't cross my mind that they cannot adapt the expanse to the existing maps. It is, in my opinion, disrespectful towards the players who spend time to build nice maps.

I bought the DLC knowing that snow was only on the winter maps and the rest of the maps get rain instead--fair enough, I thought!! Sadly, I think the winter stuff needs a bit of tuning. I could go on and say a lot of negative things because I was really disappointed with this DLC, but the game itself is wonderful.

The developers must know how badly they've failed on this one. The reviews for the base game and After Dark are both "Very Positive" on Steam, while the Snowfall DLC is "Mixed." That's a major slip for such a successful game. Happy First Anniversary!!!!
