Old West Models & Mods
I am surprised to see there is not a mod pack to turn Cities Skyline in to an "Old West" motif. I don't even see anything on an individual bases. Wooden bridges, horses with riders for cars, horses with carriages for buses. Old west hospitals and schools. This could really be an incredible looking mod if someone really applied themselves to it. Old west jails. Dirt roads. Working around how to show traffic lights could be rough. I'm thinking a post with colored signs folding out. Maybe I am being too imaginative but I really think this could be awesome. What do you think?

i wish we could start a city in the 1800's or maybe earlier and slowly develop it into a modern city as you unlock research and historical discoveries such as automobiles, electricity, flight, etc.... it would be awesome to perserve historical parts of the city mixed from all the different styles of architecture from the different eras

This could be cool.

If you're interested in other historic styles, I have been checking out the medieval city building style, and corresponding buildings (like guard barracks, monastery, etc). You can theoretically make a functioning medieval city with it, though it can also be cool for a historic part of your city I suppose.

It makes me wonder, what other cool styles could we see? Medieval Italian styles are possible (the author of the mods is Italian), I think it'd be cool to see a medieval Norse style even, and also ancient Roman, Greek, and Egyptian styles, possibly others too. Shoot, if anyone happens to begin work on a Norse style, I could totally help with research lol.

But anyways, I think an old west town theme would be fun to play with.

This is the beauty of the game. The limit is your imagination (and modding skills). There are so many themed building setss tht could be developed- architectural styles, geographic/national flavours, historical periods, very specific niche elements. The modding community is supremely talented and I look forward to checking the workshop on a daily basis to see check the new content.

It could be interesting to tie in the railroad. As it is you don't unlock the railroad in the beginning, but I could see having the railroad available almost immediately and connecting to it being a priority, since it would serve as your only outside connection (unless maybe there could be paddlewheelers maybe) until you can eventually get a road connected to the rest of the country.

I could see these replacements/models:

Fire watch station - a little hut/tent for the fire watch shifts in town during the night
Firehouse - wagons with water pumps, etc.
Railroad Police - the first police station you get.
Sheriff's Office - old west version of the police headquarters (alternatively, sheriff's office as the police station, and if you become big enough then you get a police station)
Medical tent - ex-Civil War doctors maybe? lol
Chapel (as a park) - humble house of the Lord
Graveyard - for obvious reasons
