What roads do you mainly use throughout your city?
I mainly use the 6 lane road in my whole city. Curious what kinds of roads everyone else uses? And would it be of any use to use the smaller roads?

I make highway systems and branch 6 and 4 lanes roads from them, then I fill the area with 2 lines roads, super effective and looks realistic.

Two-lanes, Two-lane one-ways, highways, and ramps never create traffic lights with each other. I have not used 4 or 6-lanes since I realized that fact and I have not been missing them.

All 6 lanes and highways. They are the fastest and get cims to their destinations on time.

I tried using two lane only and highways last game and traffic was so bad because the cims couldn't get off the road in time.

Two lane two way with trees for residential using 6 lane two way tree lined as main artery to highway and two lane two way basic for industry connected to 6 lane (for residential access) and with on/off ramps to highway. Commercial gets same mix. Tried the six lane bus two way and nobody used the two inner lanes. Four lane two way only for the Underground Incinerator.

I use them all. It's not really a simple question. I suppose throughout the bulk of the early build of most cities, I'll mostly use 2 way 2 lane roads. Towards the end of the build I'll have used whichever type of road I want for a particular purpose and or look. I've built cities with highways, without highways, invisible highways, big roads, small roads and everything in between. Pedestrian pathing must also be mentioned as that is an important and extremely useful method for moving Cims. All roads have their uses.

I try to go for a tiered approach with six lanes feeding into two lanes where possible. I use two one-ways going instead of the four lane.

I use mostly six lane roads , then i branch out with four lane roads and if i still have room then i use the two lane roads. I also use the dirt roads here and there but not often.

I use highways to connect residential to main commercial city and industry. 6 lane one way roads around and through my residential which the buses are connected to. Then 2 lane roads where my houses are :)

I always use all of the roads.I use the six laners and motorways as arterial roads, and I sorta sub divide the four lane and two laners into veins. Motorway traffic filters down into six lane roads from the connection points, then those in turn divide up into four lane roads. Those head directly in and our of my cities crucial areas from the arterial roads. and then the two lane roads take traffic from the four lane roads so that it can supply the commercial or industrial zones and keep my residencial zones populated. The same works in reverse of course. It's pritty efficiant if I get it juuust right.
I use pretty much everything. Having seen how real-life traffic problems occur, I try to give every lane of traffic somewhere to go so that nothing is forced to merge over arbitrarily.
