Lane controls
Hi All,

brand new to this game. I have the base game with no DLC and am only using one or two mods at present. Can anyone point me to a mod that allows me to adjust the lanes on a multi lane road? I want to be able to control what turns are / are not allowed from particular lanes.

I have tried TM:PE but it was doing some strange things to my traffic flow, which stopped as soon as I remove that mod.

Cheers,
Chris.

Since you are new to the game, you should not be using mods, especially TMPE. There are ways to deal with traffic and getting traffic to do what you want. While TMPE can change things, if you are cannot control any side affects without removing the mod, then it is best to not use it.

Lane mathematics can help you with lane usage. Say you want a lane specifically for right turns, a 3 lane road to the intersection is OK, then use a 2 lane road (on each side of the center line) on the opposite side of the intersection. For an highway, use 3 lanes to the exit, after the exit use a 2 lane highway, then a 3 lane highway at the next on ramp. Check out some of Biffa's traffic fix videos for ideas.

I agree with WhiteKnight77.

Though if you really want lane connectors, then you should use TM:PE. This is the only mod that provides that particular option.

TM:PE has a lot of options in itself. So getting to know the game with that mod requires some time and effort as well. There's a link to a manual on TM:PE on the mods Workshop page.

+1
Had a long post but remove it for it did not suggest a mod.
Personally I don't use mods for that operation. I mix and match road pieces to achieve the desired lane use around an intersection or wherever. Along with the "lane math" thing (which I don't use) there is the powerful tool of lane forcing (lane reservation). Lane forcing (lane reservation) is what I believe get folks into issues of single laning traffic. It goes against the "lane mathematics" rule for you can have a two lane roundabout and have four lane roads connecting to it (two lanes each direction) and develop a single lane use only. Though the two lanes going into the round match the two lanes of the round the math does not work because how they will use the lanes is ignored. Though this does not help in the question of suggesting a mod you may find these video clip informative to your needs, possibly.

Hi All,
thanks for the responses. I will do some more reading and leave the mods for now.
Cheers,
Chris.
