And technical CS2 is to GPU heavy, 170 Watt with 45 fps (GPU usage at 98%) is a joke.
and the simulation ist broken af.
CS1 is a pathetic mess for modern hardware, it just wasn't made for it, so any mid rang system from 5 years ago the game just wont utilize at all.
Though I agree, it is a better game atm, even without mods, CS1 is just better when it comes to content, and I feel it offers more a challenge at the start as CS2 I never really had money issues or watch my budget, every milestone they give you so much I sorta don't understand what the point in playing with money enabled is about.
And obviously CS2 looks like it has no content and optimization, but CS1 was literally at the same point back at its release, there was just no proper competition to visualize, how empty it really was and all the DLCs pretty much show that.
Building is much more pleasurable in CS2. The flow of traffic is more pleasurable to watch as well. Modules do add a lot of potential, especially when it comes to future mods and transportation infrastructure.
That being said, simulation performance is super slow. Even if mods do unlock the rest of the map - only about 1/9th of the map is available to be unlocked, similar to CS1 - I cannot see how CS2 can be playable on that larger area as it already struggles with the available vanilla map tiles.
Plus CS2 is super buggy at the moment.
People see games all the time where the game gets dumped on the pubic in a hot mess. And then never get fixed. They just barely make a workable game for the money grab. So people get burned a few times and don't buy hot messes knowing they will never get fixed.
CS2 is a hot mess. It was silly to make everyone pay to play it in its present state. It's going to cost them more money releasing it this way than they'll ever make.
I didn't buy it. And probably never will. There's nothing they could add that would make it worth the money. In the end it's just a builder game. CS1 does that now and it very good at it. CS2 from what I've watched added nothing new to the game at all other than port mods over. Mods CS1 already has so why buy CS2 for the mods I have already for free.
If I have to wait 8 years for a game to actually be good, then wow. Talk about a poor release.
So, I pay hard earned money then have to wait 8 years to see if it's money well spent? I think I'll pass on that, thank you very much.
That's the trouble now. Almost every game it complete trash on release. They grab the quick buck. If it doesn't sell the units, they need they never even try and fix the game. It's a wonder why everyone now wants nothing but free to play. Because they know if they pay, they'll probably be screwed with a broken game that will never be fixed.
I never understood them even release a CS2. All it was going to be was CS1 with some mods added and a bigger hit on your computer to make it work.
They could have just release a huge DLC that changed to game engine. And had CS2 with CS1.
Instead, they release a hot mess that one day might be good. Not the best idea.
talking is easy
Way to misunderstand and twist. Great work!
Nah, it's not a cash grab even if people like to always twist things that way when they don't understand the business model. C:S2 is a much needed update to ageing core and allowed a rewrite on every aspect plus to use latest engine. Partly a big gamble and didn't pay off completely, but at least they know the issues and can work on them to improve, unlike in the old game where they know the issues but are limited by the version of Unity they used.
C:S2 has implemented many features that were either requested to C:S1 or added via mods. It's also more open core with improved mod compatibility which makes it very exciting at the moment. When Paradox Mods is released, we can use various versions of the same mod etc. All integrated directly in game as the access is via main menu.
Haters will always hate, but unbiased will see the potential it offers. Not there yet, but neither was C:S1 after its launch.
C2 is a great start with development time in front of it,
Unless you are playing on a potato, it runs great, but you cant blame the game for that. Upgrade your machine.
Games should be designed for cutting edge hardware. That way they aren't dated in 2 years.
