Placing train stations

Is anyone else unable to place train stations on roads? I am only able to place the vanilla station atm. Is it just me or is there some sort of bug?

I mean they're big. So if you have other roads or things, you'll need to replace them.

I can place them right enough but I've never had much luck getting the passenger stations to work the way I want them to.

I want to let people ride into town on the train and then switch over to metro to get around the city. But no luck so far.

Check for collision issues. Worst case scenario, use Move It, build the station somewhere else, and drag it to the desired area.

Not for nothing, but I seem to have solved my issues by replacing outside connection track with vanilla tracks.

UPDATE - After further trial and error, I find I can place a station but only on a 2 lane road which, after placement can not be upgraded. Is this normal?

This is definitely not normal behavior. You should have no issues placing train stations next to any roads, of any type, modded or not.

Do you use mods? If so remove all of them and check if the error reoccurs. If it does not, then you will have to figure out which one is causing the issue.

UPDATE:Problem solved. I had "collision" on. Thanks to @Hoot for his question as when I looked for the offending assets (one was the dual platform bypass - the other was also in the creator pack), I noticed the had exit roads to an existing road in common.
