how do i get rid of maps
I've subbed to maps that said vanilla map only to find out in the content manager saying a DLC is required. now over time they have built up to a lot of maps that i don't want because i can't play them. but they don't have unsub button to get rid of them... how do i delete them?

As long as you're subscribed to them, they will turn up in your Content Manager. You really need to unsubscribe from them.

If the unsubscribe/delete button is missing in the Content Manager, then the only option you have is to go through the subscribed items list (in Steam) and unsubsribe from them manually.

Unsubscribe from the Workshop. Go to My Files > Subscribed Items and select Maps. Keep in mind that "vanilla" can mean the base game plus DLCs. Check the description to see if DLCs are mentioned.

thank you for this. i like this just as a better way to sub and un-sub to stuff.
but doing this to get rid of maps, it only shows 4 of them. i sudded to a lot more than that. and i know they are not the base game maps because the amount grew since starting this game a few months ago. unless CS is showing more to try to get you to buy more... but these maps are cluttering up when trying to select a new game...

i did searches for a couple of maps that i subbed to, and it showed i was not subbed to them. 1 poster i think was making a sarcastic remark with "thank you for locked dlc map". is this some kind or sales tactic from CS? forcing you to see these maps with DLC required?

i got 75 unplayable DLC maps that i can't get rid of. the only ones that have the option to go to site or unsub are the ones that are not DLC. Also, all assets say "DLC required" when visiting its site, so why doesn't it say it for maps...

I'm not sure. I own all the DLC so it's only logical that all the games maps are visible to me.

But it could very well be that they've added the maps in the menu to show which DLC you need to play that map. That doesn't mean the map-file is also on your computer.

but it's a nuisance with all the clutter for no reason.

Nowadays, when a game updates due to DLC, the update installed everything related to the DLC, but you cannot use it until you pay for it. That is why you see the DLC maps in the Map tab in Content Manager or when starting a new city.
