If your trucks can't get to the buildings before they burn to the ground the burn icon marker will stay above the building till you bulldoze the damage, so it can rebuild.
Very nice to see the return of fires. For those who came into the game without them (fires) I suspect some renovations may be in order.
I tested my modded city (main city) too and it has burning buildings with trucks attending. I do have some burned out buildings in certain places that I'm not sure if they were all there before. But they are in the district which had trouble with fire coverage and had burnouts. I was working on this issue when the fires vanished from the game.
I would suggest starting a vanilla game by using the launch option --noWorkshop
to confirm mod interference.
Press CTRL + SHIFT + P (CMD + SHIFT + P on Mac) while playing to toggle Problem Notification Icons on and off.

No Problem Notifications 2.1
How to use
You can set which types of notifications you want to hide in the mod settings.
You can toggle visibility of notifications by shortcut Ctrl+Shift+N from game (can be rebinded in the mod settings).
You can hide only normal notifications, but still have visible major notifications.

on Xbox, i think i might be certainly almost positively knowing what i'm talking about, had that type of option of turning off the annoying notifications...
Hahaha, that had me laugh out load...
Never thought of it before, but it's exactly what it is... hahahah...
me too
also i hear lots of chimes which i believe are notifications that I've must have adjusted the volume to really low. if i'm hearing it why am i not seeing notifications?
Notice of a fire is just a icon of a flame above the building on fire at the moment.
