The mod actually is more flexible than the DLC in which you can place multiple taxiway entries per runway, unlike the DLC, where only an entrance and an exit may be placed. That alone makes it better than the DLC, in my opinion.

In the other hand, the DLC places everything in an unified and well organized UI, easier to build, is district-based, and the district tool used automatically flattens the terrain for you, which is a nice touch and makes it usable to do general terraforming as well.
