All the enhancements are available to us pc users on the workshop already.
Likely minor cause of mods to be realigned with the game, so I see no adverse affects on the game at all. Worst case is some game mechanic is broken like every update seems to get.
But I'm sure we'll get all of the mod updates as well. I mean they are already in game as it is.
This was odd in the announcement:
Cities: Skylines is currently available on consoles and PC. Cities: Skylines – Remastered will drop on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 15, 2023. It’s a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 or Xbox One versions, respectively. If you’re new to the title, it will run you $39.99
It's weird that it is free for older versions of PS4 and Xbox1 but it's $40 for PS5 newer XBOX versions.
Not all PC users have it on Steam.
Having had a lot of trouble using Mods broken by the last update Id say lol
You have a point but last update took me three weeks to sort my city out even though there was very little mod fallout some of the new features caused chaos in my city. I've been on this update rodeo since around 2016 and although i've loved some of the DLC's it's a royal pain in the backside. But i guess here we go again.
Anyways, happy for all the console players to finally getting access to more tiles!
All i do is leave my pc running while the update happens then i monitor the main mods until they're updated then close and reload my game. Works well for he most part but tourism boost crippled my tourist areas as the roads weren't designed to handle the traffic
Thought the same thing about backward compatibility but they change a lot of coding on the updates enhance the need for mods to be updated. I'd love a stop update button but then the mods that have been updated won't work with an older version.
