No remaster on PC ?
So the free remaster is only for consoles right ?

You'd think they would release it for PC as vanilla players would benefit from some of the enhancements like 25 tiles but i hope they don't as it will screw our modded games for sure.
All the enhancements are available to us pc users on the workshop already.

Oh, yeah it may be a good idea to not break all the mods indeed. Thanks for response.

Although there would probably come a patch in the next couple of weeks.

That's the problem IMO, a lot of these mods SHOULD be incorporated into the main game so we have less reliance on mods and thus less broken games.

The update looks minor. Aren't they releasing new DLC on valentines day? I assumed it would release on March 10th-ish for the anniversary update like last year.

Likely minor cause of mods to be realigned with the game, so I see no adverse affects on the game at all. Worst case is some game mechanic is broken like every update seems to get.

But I'm sure we'll get all of the mod updates as well. I mean they are already in game as it is.

This was odd in the announcement:

Cities: Skylines is currently available on consoles and PC. Cities: Skylines – Remastered will drop on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 15, 2023. It’s a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 or Xbox One versions, respectively. If you’re new to the title, it will run you $39.99

It's weird that it is free for older versions of PS4 and Xbox1 but it's $40 for PS5 newer XBOX versions.

Not all PC users have it on Steam.

You have a point but last update took me three weeks to sort my city out even though there was very little mod fallout some of the new features caused chaos in my city. I've been on this update rodeo since around 2016 and although i've loved some of the DLC's it's a royal pain in the backside. But i guess here we go again.

After the last update, I waited about a week to try and play, but crashed. I waited about a month, let Steam update everything again, and the game ran as expected on a map with a population over 140,000.

On console its a separate install could be same thing on PC or at least add optional backwards update so you can play on old version until mods come out.

But then they would probably add something where the console players would get jealous on us PC players again. Has happened before and it will for sure happen again..

I'd love to see at least native support for unlocking all 25 tiles in-game coming to Cities on PC. Even if it's just an optional checkbox to tick when starting a new map, perhaps with a performance warning for older systems.

Anyways, happy for all the console players to finally getting access to more tiles!

All i do is leave my pc running while the update happens then i monitor the main mods until they're updated then close and reload my game. Works well for he most part but tourism boost crippled my tourist areas as the roads weren't designed to handle the traffic

Thought the same thing about backward compatibility but they change a lot of coding on the updates enhance the need for mods to be updated. I'd love a stop update button but then the mods that have been updated won't work with an older version.
