RAM. 16GB, 32GB or 64GB?
So I'm planning on buying more RAM for my PC because modded Cities Skylines can't run on 8GB. The RAM I plan on buying is KINGSTON Renegade RGB DDR4 3200MHz CL16 KF432C16RBA.

My PC specs are:
Intel Core i5 10400 @ 2.90GHz Comet Lake 14nm Technology Processor
8.00GB RAM
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME B460M-A R2.0 (LGA1200) Motherboard
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (ASUStek Computer Inc) Graphics
476GB GIGABYTE GP-GSM2NE3512GNTD Storage

What I plan on doing is using all the mods and assets from City Planner Plays' Clearwater County Series. How much RAM should I buy to play smoothly without lag or minimal lag? Thanks in advance!

The CPU only needs 2,666MHz RAM. So, if it is cheaper at the lower RAM speeds, you should be fine and hopefully save a little money.

A heavy modded game needs at least 32GB of RAM. Especially if you have most of the DLC.

You forgot to link his workshop list. You can get by with 16GB and a page file if you can't swing 32GB of RAM.

Go for the max. Some people play this game using 128GB of RAM. I don't know if 256GB of RAM is available on the computer market.

That's fairly small. 16GB with a small page file will handle it with ease.

However, if CPP has different DLC, then you may need to purchase more DLC to be able to load it.

Amazing, thanks for the help!

I suggest for you to get 64GB of RAM, & I hope you will take this into consideration.

You will not find a common motherboard with more than 128gb support. Maybe in the very very high end... Ram capacity support strangely is dictated by the motherboard, not the cpu. Thats why double check before make purchase.

I am, I'm debating on either 32GB or 64GB right now

128gb also means $$$, and I'm not really up for spending that much money on RAM

Unless you're going to subscribe to thousands of asset and place them one-by-one and be very detailed with your city build, 16GB should be adequate. then you can get a matching set down the road for a total of 32GB. That should handle a 1,000 detailed assets easily. 32GB (2x16GB kit) can be fairly cheap. but I would put much of any money into this game until you find if it is right for you.

City Planner lists his specs with his videos. He plays with 64gb, which I've found to be way more than enough. I got a pagefile of 250gb just because I got the space, but never hit 64gb in total, nor 40gb ram use.

I've been playing on my cousin's account for a while, a year maybe. This game is fascinating with mods. It relaxes me and puts me in some kind of zen state

I have two 32 GB of Team Group 18-22-22-42 3600 MHz modules, using XMP to boost. My motherboard is the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Horse. My CPU is the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, and my GPU is the AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT. Here are the loading stats of LSM from yesterday:

Performance -

Custom assets loaded: 9221 assets

Loading speed: 174.4 assets / second

Custom assets loading time: 0:53 minutes:seconds

Total loading time: 8:41 minutes:seconds

Peak memory usage -

Game RAM use: 32.88 GB

Game pagefile use: 60.28 GB

System RAM use: 42.03 GB

System pagefile use: 73.88 GB

Yes... I have an asset addiction, I know. But the AMD Adrenaline software says I've got an average of 141.0 FPS, so I'm not complaining!

Rough RAM usage, depending on how many DLCs and subscribed modded assets you use:

4GB RAM: Base game
8GB RAM: Base game + 100 assets, 1-2 DLC's
16GB RAM: Base game + 500 assets, 5-10 DLC's
32GB RAM: Base game + 2000 assets, 15 DLC's
64GB RAM: Base game + 4000 assets, All DLC's
