People Not Using Train Station
In my current city I have a train station that for some reason no one is using. The train is able to complete its trip along the line, and services can reach the building so I doubt the issue is that people can't reach it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2910565273

There's a small bus hub across the street. That hub has two lines that go to a nature preserve (clockwise/counter-clockwise) with residential stops along the way. The other two go in the opposite direction toward a couple unique buildings, some commercial areas, and past a couple residential areas as well. The hub has people going to it (as seen below). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2910565282

The station is located in a mixed commercial/office/residential area, so I'm thinking there should be some sort of incentive to use it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2910565300

The other end is connected to my main train hub, that currently has a line to the soccer stadium, and another that leads to the outside (though not directly). The train hub has a metro station, and is near the airport. This results in the hub being quite busy as well. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2910565291

I'm just at a loss as to why no one has used the station. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to get this station busy moving people instead of wasting money.

It can sometimes take a long time for enough demand to build up at a station for trains to start arriving. If you are using a station asset from the workshop, the asset could be bugged. Try using a different station and see if usage changes.

I haven't used passenger trains all that much. My folks didn't seems to like them. They love the metro. When they were in use it was to go FAR away so perhaps it is just a matter of the type of transportation you are using. For ME, buses and metro have been the best for "inner city" travel. Monorails didn't get used as much. I haven't added those to my city yet to see if that still holds true.

If you make a test save and replace the train with metro or buses and the station still isn't used it may simply be that folks don't want to go where you think they do LOL. That happens.

Did you wait the simulation to run for a bit? And did you see any passengers at all in the station?

As per markg, if using Workshop assets, try replacing the station with another one.

All methods of transportation can be highly used, just depends on the way you set up your city and your lines. I usually make trains the backbone of the transport system, and they are highly used.

The area of offices and residential zoning to the left was built several game months after the train station, in an attempt to get someone to use the station. The compact bus hub came a little bit after that, so the game had been ran for a good amount of time after the station was built.

And after posting last night I too thought it might have been a problem with the train station asset used there so I removed it and built a vanilla passenger station there. Then I went to a different part of the city and watched my trams for a bit before returning to check on the station (so maybe a day). It was still showing zero weekly passengers.

save your game.
doublesave
remove all other public transport around that train station.

if they start useing the trian it's an attractiveness issue, e.g. people thought other public transport fittted their needs better.

still no one useing it? I'd guess the asset has a problem, or peds can't walk there.
(are there even people walking by the station or is the street devoid of pedestrians?)

Ok, I did you look at the screenshots and read your comment. I have that sometimes too. Usually, I think the game does not like a 1-stop station. I had this problem with the airport. I put a train station in-between at one of the parks and suddenly the people came from the airport and wanted to go to the airport.

I hope this makes sense?

So the station was replaced with a vanilla station and the line was deleted & remade. Still not getting any users.

EDIT: Ignore all the death and trash issues. I've been getting the InDLC bug that overfills the raw storage and was working on different things to mitigate that issue. I got the industrial areas set up so no vehicles can enter them at the moment, so if you look at the save you shouldn't be hit with the bug. Except for the one silo near the unique factories. That one will likely get hit with the bug. One I notice it I just make the road its on one-way leading away from it in both direction so all the incoming trucks start despawning.

Try lengthening the rail route (to include other stations farther away), to include more stations, as per snowflitzer's comment.
