Traffic problem (glitch?)

So I have this weird problem with traffic that I haven't seen before. In my city lives around 3,000 citizen but cars and all other traffic just keeps coming to city. My highways are as full as they can get. Traffic jam in highway just keeps going for miles. I even started new city with different entrance to see if it makes any difference, no, same thing keeps coming again. I've played this game for couple years now and I have not seen this kind of stuff before. Maybe glitch somewhere?

Did you create your city while the game was paused? If so, when you unpause the game you get a huge influx of new cims into your city.

This needs some time. Once the cims found their home, traffic will go down.

If this is not the case, can you post some screenshots of your city? And if you play modded, a list of your mods would be nice too. Hello! After last game update number of tourists in my city grow up from 500 to 3500 people, this is small city, just 20k people. I was have 85% of traffic, now is jumping even to 70% and a lot of red roads, i dont know if update change it or some mod, but i didnt istall anything new.

Well that wasn't the case.
I have here some screenshots of my city with lot of traffic. I also wonder why AI traffic uses only one lane. It really messes up the traffic.

I see you're using TM:PE. In the mods options you can enable 'Dynamic Lane Selection. Set the corresponding slider at 50%. This should improve multimple lane usage. (9This option is pretty CPU demanding. If your game starts to stutter, then disable this option again.)

Try setting up your roundabout as in the following screenshot. Make sure there are two lanes going into the roundabout. And that the roundabout itself is made of 4-lane roads. Then apply the lane connectors as shown in the picture. It makes traffic use two-lanes going into the roundabout. Doubling the traffic flow.

Same happened to me. After the last update it jumped, from 700ish and I'm now at 4000. I built inter city transport, a harbor but the car traffic just won't bloody go down.

Many thanks for your help! I think my car traffic is now better when enabling the Dynamic Lane Selection. In this case my traffic flow increased from 24% to 83%. I also noticed that I had this one park on workshop which seemed to draw more tourists than usually.

Can you link the Workshop page of that park? Others have complained about a ridiculous increase in tourists. Perhaps they're using the same asset.

I checked like couple hundred cars and all of them were going to this park. This is one reason to me why I have jammed highways.

What's the entertainment value on the park & parking asset. I downloaded a few assets that had like 10,000 in entertainment value, and my tourists exploded and had like 3,000 people visit that one site. Promptly deleted it.
