Can you build over old sinkholes?

May not be a smart idea, but can you build over an old sinkhole? I filled in the hole and made it level again with the landscaping tool, but that area is still unable to be zoned. Im guessing that area of land is ruined now and unsafe forever?

If zoning does not work what about building an service (police/firestation/shool/etc.) there?

I have no problem with rebuilding any on the filled in sinkholes or earthquake chasms.

Make sure they are even with the road, and that the roads are level too.

I just bulldoze the roads and use the leveling tool in landscape tools, then redraw roads.

This has worked for me every time.

Thanks. After time advancing some it did make that land available for zoning again. It just took awhile.

Now Im trying to figure out what to do after a tornado. Bulldoze everything? It looks like zoned areas might rebuild? I have a park that got destroyed and it wont let me rebuild it. It says the area has to be searched by a disaster response team! Im guessing that is the fire station? The fire station got wiped out by the tornado. So i build another. Have to see what happens.

Try building some fences real quick over the area unable to be zoned. I have had some weird zoning issues where i had to place some quick fences over and delete them to fix it

Good tip. I will keep an eye out for that. Luckily the sinkhole area was able to be zoned shortly after I leveled it off. Took about 2 minutes or so on play.

One new problem I just experienced on this map was a firehouse that wasnt able to fight fires. The fire trucks just drove up and down the street back and forth and never stopped to put out the fire! I tried deleting the firehouse and built a new one. Hopefully it will work. Not sure what was wrong. In my previous map the firehouses worked flawlessly.
