Industrial road layout
I wanted to make a large industrial area but most of what I have found online is for small cities ( fewer than 10,000 cims). They also don't have cargo train stations. This is what I've come up with to solve the traffic problems that I had. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also even though there are some red spots the traffic keep moving.

that is extreley horribe and doesn't work at all.
too many big road intersections, too many traffic lights, and more problems. that area can never work without using mods.
once that area is zoned in, the entry/exits are so bad they create a lot of bottlenecks.

what adam2f14 postes works much better. but also far from perfect.

the trick for a working industrial is that they have lots of options to enter & exit from highway. also a cargo train station can take off a lot of traffic.

industrial needs to have flawless traffic options to get to map exists and to get to your commercial zones.

stuff that helps:
- surrounding highway with lots of entry/exits ramps. and not some badly made ones, good ones with smooth intersections (if they are too curvy, vehicles slow down and create bottlenecks) and no stoplights
- an auxiliary tunnel highway going through the center, also with lots of exits
- once the are is zoned and running, see which are the busiest and worst intersections and bulldoze them and replace with medium sized roundabouts (highway type to not create stoplights and big enough so changing lanes doesn't slow them down), so you need to build leaving plenty of space for later

learn from your mistakes and problems and make a new industrial zone with what you learned and bulldoze the whole old one, to zone in the new one.

You need to give your goods access a lot of space or youll get slammed with high volume demand. You will need to build freeways a couple of miles in length to cope with large cities.

i have set a medium forestry in my city, what i have done to make them not annoying for my city;

Totaly isolated them from the entire city, people from the city can enter the forestry area but cannot go out without the metro du to one way road

set up only a cargo train station for them to go out export and set up another cargo station somewhere in the city for delivery from the forestry

with this, they are forced to take the cargo train to make delivery or export

you can also do this with cargo boat

ho yeah, if your cargo station is overloaded you should add 1 more

I have found a solution that works for me. I zone them off of 6 lane roads. I also use 6 lane roads exclusively inside industrial zones and I break the industrial zone into "pods" on opposite sides of the six lane roads. I am not at home so I can't give a screenshot right now but I will try and post one tonight for.

You should try it, one way road and traffic lights help the traffic a lot.

I love what you came up with.
From that point its all evolution. I have a few screenshots of industrial areas that might be of interest to you.
