My laptop has never over-heated with any other games I have played, so thats good. It's never had problems with running games in the past, I was just asking if this game was any different/ things i should look out for
Okay, thanks :3
I'm guessing you have a budget laptop and if so, you'll be limited to a few map tiles and no workshop items, plus low graphics settings and low screen resolution.
Most budget laptops are dual core with integrated Intel HD video. You really need a quad-core and a dedicated video for the full experience.
Remember, laptops are for business and casual use. They are designed to run on batteries and lightweight and just don't have enough for higher end games. This game starts out light demand. but increases very fast as your city grows.
Like I said, likely only a few tiles will be playable before it starts lagging badly.
That said, I love this game and once I am more on my feet financially, I intend to build a good enough desktop to run it, rather than hurt my laptop.
Post your specs please.
Try not to feel insulted by my stating the obvious.
This is completely false, while graphics may hold you back, it will not stop you from playing the game. You will just be limited to the size of your city and the number of tiles you unlock. Limited workshop items as well.
And as for city size, that is not affected by graphics. Sure, low end ends will struggle to render it and may be slower, but the issue there is RAM for a game like CS, and most modern computers will have enough RAM and a good enough CPU to run modern games. Its the graphics they need to look out for.
I mean in my post that you can still play the game even Intel integrated graphics are not supported. But your game will be very limited.
Intel graphics aren't supported because they can handle the full 9-tiles of the game. But you can still play some tiles, at least one I imagine. I mean the game supports dx9 graphics that are over a decade old. Just don't expect to use workshop items, high graphics settings, high resolution, etc.
If you keep your expectations low, the game will play on unsupported graphics for those who really want to play. Some will be happy with a single tile, and will determine if they want to follow through with an upgrade.
