Coal power plants not getting coal
Ive read up a lot on here and online, and I cant figure out whats wrong. All of the roads around the plants are green and the main road coming in from the north is green traffic level too.

Im doing the Lake City scenario where you have to develop transport by boat for citizens. This is my first time playing.

I already had to move the plants. I moved them up by the highway where the trucks all come in and all was great. Then all of the sudden we stopped getting trucks. When I click on the buildings and look at traffic, there are no brown paths coming in from the highway. The trucks were coming in fine before and now they are not. Budget is about 110% for electric too. I built the two plants across the street from each other. They are on a 4 lane road that goes both ways. That road shows as having green traffic flow.

Coal stored is now at 0 weeks. No trucks showing as coming in.

The scenario has no coal to mine, so it has to all be imported. Is it possible that coal has just run out and cannot be imported right now? Is is a matter of my budget? Do you have to have a certain amount of money in your coffers in order to order the coal? Im running rather slim on money now. I only have about $8000. Maybe thats my problem?

Perhaps this part of the game is buggy?

I don't suppose you've modified the road network in such a way that inadvertently isolated the section with the power plants from the highway?

No. I looked at all of that. i cant see anything like that. The big thing too is the fact that both plants were getting coal right where they are, and now they arent getting any at all. The roads around it didnt change at all. All of the coal should come in from the highway in the north because its the only highway from the outside world. Im doing the Lake City Ferry Empire scenario.

I changed the roads going around the landfill sites, but thats nowhere near the power plants and isnt even in the path for trucks coming from the highway. All traffic is showing as green on the highway and all the way to the plants. Both plants I placed are right next to the highway off ramp.

Maybe the mechanics of getting coal in the game are buggy? It isnt possible that there is a coal shortage? lol !

its the same with oil, i built an oil industry JUST to have oil for plants and it will stay say its running out after about 10 mins of play. even if i have pumps and storage next to it

Ok, so its the game being bugged out. It sounds like we have no alternative but to use green energy and nuclear. Since in the beginning we cant build more than a simple wind turbine, we are stuck spending mega $$ for little energy. I played this game to escape the real world. Its like the real world has invaded this game! None of it makes sense.

I may try starting the town over again and using coal plants. I see people online not having problems, so they must work somehow.

I recently put in some parking lot mods from the Steam Workshop. All were rated top stars. I havent even put in any yet, so i doubt they would do this. Anyone ever have trouble with just having the parking lot mod installed doing this with fuel delivery?

The oil power plant cannot use crude oil, it needs processed products from zoned oil industry. This is what they should import from the region but it seems to have glitched out for maldorf. I know of cases where simply bulldozing and rebuilding the power plant has helped.

Just started the Ferry scenario again fresh. I put a special exit ramp from the highway right where it comes into town. The ramp is just for the power plants,. When I built the plant and checked the routes on the building, the brown truck line appeared coming into town on the highway and goes right to the coal plant. I will see if it continues to work or if it has trouble once again.
