How do I stop my city from importing massive ammounts of industry stuff???
I have a farm and plenty of home grown crops, but my city just keep importing massive amounts of crops. Because of this, my grown crops just get exported instead of sent to storage. All my trucks are only importing and exporting and none of my factories or buildings ever get the stuff they need, even though I have it. I also have massive traffic problems all from trucks importing when I don't need stuff imported!!!

What DLC and What is Ground Resources?

Do you get notifications that factories or commercials lack resources/products?

Generally it is smart to build industry zone near motorway exit. At some point, if possible, your main industry area should have its own. Also, not bad to put rail or ship cargo station nearby. This will redirect transport routes so that you will not have heavy traffic inside the city.

What industry you have? Generic from game or from Industries DLC?

Farm industry. It's lvl 5 and yes my factory does not get crops or flour, and every storage is 100% full and any time I build more storage, 100 trucks spawn from triain station to import all crops to fill up the storage. It is causing just permanant gridlock and 100% of my trucks in use. So nothing gets delivered to my city because everything is just importing and exporting. I even built 4 larga barns to take the stress off the other barns that are 100% full. But as soon as I built them, train just unloaded 500 trucks to import crops to max out the bars even though they are set to empty. The importing just never stops

That is strange... Anyway, I think u do things the way u should.

Hmm... remove warehouses? I never do warehouses in industrial zones. I use warehouses near city or in city, to supply shops. Barns are of course different thing. You need barns, but not that many. As far as I recall I use 1 barn per some 3 resources buildings.

My only idea is that warehouses do something wrong. Destroy them and see if things work better. I understand that factories have access to all resources, not only farming?

It does stop eventually but you gotta build more storage
Believe it or not

Warehouse 'balanced' mechanics are shot (of course, thank you Paradox)

Don't worry about the initial import of goods, that's just 'balanced' mode being stupid. Let the game churn through the import, it'll stop eventually. But build storage slowly, one building at a time, to avoid overloading your road network when the import happens.

You need enough storage that the surplus being produced is balanced out by your ability to export that surplus. That's going to be a function of the number of warehouse trucks at your disposal and what they need to do to get the stuff out of your city.

Number of trucks is what matters. If those trucks are not available, your storage will stay at 100% and all the trucks will be exporting.

So the solution is - wait for gridlock to clear up - build one more storage - wait until the import is finished - build one more storage .. until the amount of goods stored starts to drop and some trucks start being freed up.

It doesn't work : even with 100% full warehouses and all trucks, the raw material in the zone is ignored : 100% of the raw material is imported. This is a new bug, it used to work before... (I'm coming back on this game).

OK, I have the explaination : - when you overproduce raw material, the system (your trucks) focuses on export ; as a result, there's no trucks for your own needs if your production of raw material is really huge compared to your own needs ;
- when you stop producing (raw material) or downsize the production of raw material under your needs, the trucks of your warehouses give priority to your factories.

Like I said, build more warehouses. Make more trucks available.

Or cut production, that would work too.
