Trains not picking up passengers
On some lines I have people waiting (over 500 people) but when a train with capacity arrives at the station it doesn't pick them up & leaves still with capacity for more people. Any ideas? Thanks

That's what I was thinking too, when I read the original post. That is assuming, of course, that you have multiple lines passing through that station. When you click on the transportation info button and zoom in closely enough, people waiting in stations are displayed in the same color as the line they're waiting for.

If, for example, you have the blue line and the yellow line passing through that station, all the people waiting for the yellow line are painted yellow, and all the people waiting for the blue line are painted blue.

Could it be an issue with a multi-track station?

Thanks Guys. Yes, it is their train (colours / station passenger numbers match the line). It happens with multi-track and the standard stations.

Kk, the only other idea I have at the moment, is that it might have something to do with the day shift / night shift thing. If, for example, the budget for trains is lower during the night than during the day, it would make sense that around the time when the day ends, some of the trains would just go off duty and return to their home stations, of wherever it is they go to when they're not working (no train depots, so not sure where that is).

I've noticed that at least with buses, very often a bus would return to the depot without always dropping all the passengers. A minor bug, I suppose, but it's likely that it might also be the case with trains. It might look confusing - on one hand the train still has passengers on, but on the other hand, it wouldn't pick up any more passengers. Actually, when I think about it now, I suppose such a train wouldn't stop at the station at all, so maybe this is not the problem afterall. I figure I'll post this anyway, so maybe someone else can work with that to figure out the real problem.

EDIT: It could happen immediately after changes in the line. I suppose it would be obvious, but I figured I'd mention it anyway, just in case...

I had a 4track station with an in town(local) rail and the other was out of town(national) rail. It appeared to work just fine. Tourists were arriving(from out of town rail) to my little town and shopping or do what they do. Unfortunately the tourists that wanted to go to the city for some reason could not cross the platform to board the in town(local) train system. Rail was the only way to travel from this town to across the river to the city. It caused people congestion(people that don’t get picked up) at that station as well as the connecting station. I tried flipping the lines at the station but ended up removing the 4-track and replacing with two train stations so as not to mix the lines. I tried 2 different 4-track stations same effect.. It might be the milti-track stations.

Kk, I've just encountered such a case in my game. I'm not sure it's the same as what happens in your case, but in my game, the same platform was used for trains going both directions, so when a train going a specific direction came along, it only took the passengers going that direction, and everyone else kept on waiting. Any chance this is what happens in your case as well?

Still not resolved. As a test i put in a simple shuttle line. Only two stations, one train, not linked to any other transport, and used the original game passenger station & passenger train. 29 passengers waiting at the station for train. Train arrived empty, and departed the same. All passengers remained on the platform.

Other that multi track enabler are there other mods being used for trains or public transit. Its time to mod hunt. Shut off mods one at a time and check game. I will check my game I do have multi track enabler mod “on” though I don’t use it, see if we can rule that one out. I’ll post here.
